Ladies Bible Study News

The Ladies Bible Study begins the week of September 23. Our next study is David: Seeking a Heart Like His, by Beth Moore. God will never give up on you. Explore how David's life proves this promise to be true. In this examination of the "man after God's own heart”, David will delight and disappoint you. You'll want to be just like him at times and nothing like him at others. If you've ever experienced doubts, temptations, losses, family problems, or personal inconsistencies, this study is for you! This interactive study features ten weeks of personal, daily assignments and eleven weekly group sessions with video. The evening group will begin Monday 9/23 and conclude 12/9. This group meets at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Jane Charlton. The daytime group will begin Tuesday 9/24 and conclude 12/10. This group meets at 9:00 a.m. at the home of April Sharp. We will not meet the week of Thanksgiving. Study guides need to be ordered in advance, so please contact Carolyn Ross at 714/381-0581 or [email protected] if you plan to attend. We look forward to studying together!

Bible Verse

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

Mark 10:14

I love this Bible verse as it always reminds me how precious and important our little ones are, not only to us, but to our Heavenly Father. He loves children and has entrusted His children to us to nurture, to love, to care for, and to instruct. As Christians, we are expected to instruct our children in matters of faith and to provide them with the Scriptures, as well as taking them to church where they will learn about God’s great love. As parents, grandparents, godparents, and teachers, we are expected to raise our children according to God’s Holy Word. We take this responsibility very seriously here at RLP. I have chosen teachers who are grounded in the Word and who not only teach their faith, but live it. We teach our little ones that God loves and cares for them. We help to nurture their growing faith by reading them Bible stories, singing about our Father, saying grace before our snack and at lunch time, going to chapel four times a month to hear God’s Word, and by modeling Christian values and love at all times. We are committed to helping these little children grow in faith and the knowledge that God loves and cares for them. We talk about values and the importance of trying to do our best while following the rules that God has given to us.

We are looking for some help with our scholarship fund. A donation in any amount will help us, and it is a tax deduction for you! We are blessed this year with five sets of twins! These multiples are a blessing, but the cost of two children in preschool at once can be overwhelming! Your gift can help ensure that these children will be able to continue their preschool experience in a loving and nurturing Christian environment. Some in our congregation have helped over the last several years by offering to scholarship a child for an entire year! What a blessing to know that you have been able to offer such an amazing gift! This is a child’s first school experience and can help set the tone for future academic success. Our Christ-centered curriculum gives children the opportunity to learn and grow in a loving and caring community of faith and can be the beginning of their own “walk” with Jesus. I can’t think of a greater privilege than to be the person who is able to give a child such a wonderful head start! Please prayerfully consider our preschool as we begin another year in service to our Lord.

We are looking forward to another great year!

In His Service,
