They are there for people who are dealing with grieving a death, divorce, medical problems, terminal illness, and transitions in their life and need someone to talk to about their feelings about what they are going through. Listening is what Ste-phen Ministers do. There is confidentially between the Caregivers and the Care receivers, so what is said is just between them. They meet and provide comfort and support and prayer for as long as it is needed. The Stephen Ministers of Spirit of Grace also make hospital visits and give home communion. Dear

Spirit of Grace, This year’s 2nd Annual Gratitude Dinner was fantastic! Thanks to the 117 folks of all ages who came to Spartan Manor (over 40% attendance increase from last

year!). Everyone enjoyed making together the most amazing and creative gear centerpieces (2 tables used all pieces in their set!) We celebrated Connecting to God, Connecting to Community and Connecting to-gether as a congregation. Thanks to each person who shared either a writ-ten story about connecting or spoke on the video. Two of our children were heard to say, “Now we’re fa-mous” after seeing themselves on the video! You are famous to God, to us and to your families and that’s what connecting is all about! Special thanks to Carole Coleman who shared about how important her church family is to her & how that deepened when the church walked closely with her after the death of her husband.

Special thanks also to Jenna Butler who created an outstanding video from eve-ryone’s sharings! There is much to be grateful to God about each & every day. One of the ways we show our openness to connect with God and what God is up to in our lives and in our world is how we prioritize and use our time, share of our special talents & abilities and prioritize our gratitude giving. This weekend we bring our 2020 Gratitude Com-mittment Cards of Giving up to the altar with us as we come for communion. Thanks also to the Gratitude Team for their planning & inspiration: Jenna & Domonique Butler, Terry Neal, Sandy Weber, Sharon Burke, Elaine Waldrup & me. We turn now to Advent: God’s ultimate con-necting also called ’the incarnation’ or inbreaking of grace through Jesus into the world God loves and cre-ated. More to come about “Advent Connecting.”

See you in Worship with grateful hearts, Pr. Rita Gardner Tweed, Lead Pastor, Spirit of Grace

“Gearing Up for Generosity”

CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED: Wednesday, Dec 25 thru Friday, January 3, 2020 for Christmas & New Years. In case of an emergency, please call Pastor Dave Kruger @ (727) 247-2982

Thank you Carole Coleman, also a Stephen Minister at the grace place, for sharing how deeply you are committed to your Lord and to your church family! Among the many meaningful things Carole shared was this conversation: “I’ve been asked, ‘how do you have so much patience to wait for the new church?’ Carole replied, I think you are waiting for the new building, I’m not waiting, I already have my church!”

Memorial Matters Spirit of Grace has a unique opportunity when a new sanctuary is built or renovated. We get the unique opportunity of giving thanks to God through providing special donations or memorials, above and beyond our foundation-al tithes and offerings, that are given to the glory of God, or to honor special loved ones and give thanks to God for their lives and faith. These gifts help appoint the new sanctu-aries with all they need to be worshipful. Prayerfully consider the memorial gifts listed and let Pr. Rita know promptly of your desired memorial gift. Your Memorial Matters!

Memorial Gifts New Advent Stand (North) & Candles (both campuses) Refinishing of Altar Pieces (South) Stained Glass Framing & Mounting (South) Communion Ware (both campuses) New Narthex Furnishings (both campuses) New Prayground Furnishings (both campuses) (indoor area for parents/children) New Nursery Furnishings (both campuses) Baby Grand Piano (South) You can make a memorial gift that is also open to be used as most needed, too

Two Stained Glass Altar Candle globes for each campus altar have now been provided by special memorial gifts from 6 households. Thanks be to God! These beautiful stained glass pieces will come to adorn the altars very soon. They are hand crafted by the same designer as the processional cross. Each one takes approx. 40 hours to make and is made of four separate panels, 5’’ x 14’’ that are lead-ed together with corners that are designed the same as the cross.

Grief Support Group: A few years ago, Pastor Dave Kruger led several grief support groups that partici-pants found helpful as they were grieving the loss of a loved one. With sufficient interest, he will lead a new group beginning in January 12, 2020 @ North Campus. Please let him know of your interest by text to 727-247-2982, or email: [email protected].

Connecting at the PHSC Job Fair! Welcome Jen Sarka to Spirit of Grace as the Admin-istrative Assistant! We met Jen at the PHSC Job Fair in October and she began at the very end of the same month. She brings great corporate administrative skills & and a positive nature. In this chapter of her life she is

raising her family and the office schedule of the church is a great fit. With gratitude to God for this connection at this time! Thanks Jen for taking pics @ the Gratitude Dinner!
