Schindler 9500™Conveying passengersin comfort and safety
The Concept
Schindler 9500 brings togetherleading-edge rubber belt transporttechnology and the provendependability of Schindler productsand services. Designed to
combine maximum passengerappeal with simplified structuralintegration, Schindler 9500 establishes new levels of benefitfor operators, users and plannersalike.
Delivery and Installation - On Schedule
"The installation contract for 18 passenger conveyors was placed with Schindler in June1994. All the conveyors had to be in operationby the end of May 1995, which meant a verytight schedule for a contract of this magnitude.Schindler exceeded all expectations, completingthe entire 18 units well ahead of schedule. We decided in favor of rubber belt technologybecause it both reduces noise levels to a minimum and assures passengers a soft andcomfortable ride."
P. De Jager, General ManagerJohannesburg International Airport

Key Features of Schindler 9500™
• Exceptionally shallow runningpit depth of only 315 mmallows easy integration intoboth new and existing buildings.
• Rubber belt technology is farquieter in operation than a conventional pallet-type unit.
• Risk of fire is minimized by thelubrication-free, fire-resistantbelt; there are no tread gaps, which prevents dust accumulation.
• Ecological design focus results in very low levels of oil-soiled waste.
• Design excellence in aestheticsand ergonomics gives Schindler 9500 great passenger appeal.
• Three tread widths - 1000 mm,1200 mm and 1400 mm - are available to accommodate a wide range of passenger flow rates.

Operator Benefits
Schindler 9500 was developedfor genuine owner-friendliness bycombining the inherent qualitiesof Schindler engineering technology to the durable, long-life Dunlop Starglide rubber belt.
The absence of pallets andhandrail drive chains means farfewer moving parts and a reduction in lubrication. This provides greater assuranceof high long-term availability ratesand produces significant reductions in noise levels.
Dust accumulation along the pit isalso eliminated by the absence ofgaps through which dust can fall.
the efficient, durable and stylishappearance.
Quiet, Comfortable Ride
Schindler 9500 has only a fractionof the components of a conventional passenger conveyor, and consequently operates farmore quietly.
The tough, ribbed rubber surfaceof the belt offers excellent grip topassengers while remainingcomfortable underfoot. Its transverse stiffness is muchhigher than that of earlier textilebelts, giving reassurance of itsstrength.
Stylish Appearance, SturdyConstruction
The continuous, unbroken matt-black tread surface isimpressively bordered by slim, yet robust balustrades. Schindler 9500 is designed tocombine aesthetics with robustness to transport the heaviest passenger loads.
Balustrade panels are available inglass with optional illumination, orin brushed stainless steel.Handrails may be conventionalblack, or in a color to coordinatewith the building's design scheme.

in Operation
Intelligent Controller
The brain of Schindler 9500 isMiconic F, the latest generationof Schindler‘s outstanding microprocessor controllers.
Miconic F continuously monitorsand stores all aspects of theSchindler 9500 status and performance. If any deviationfrom preset default parametersoccurs, diagnosis and reaction isimmediate, so maximizing availability.
Of increasing importance inintensive traffic environments,Miconic F is equipped with intelligent communication capability. Schindler 9500 installations can therefore transmit or receive informationand commands over a local network, and can be supervisedand controlled through centralbuilding monitoring systems, such as Schindler LobbyVision or Servitel telemonitoring.
Soft Start
At start-up Miconic F gently controls the acceleration of thedrive up to working speed. This"soft start" enhancement extendsthe life of the mechanical components beyond systemsoperating under conventionalautomatic operation.
Safety for the User
Passenger safety begins with thenon-slip rubber surface of thebelt tread.
Along its sides the belt travelsbeneath the skirting, eliminatingthe conventional vertical sidegaps and so minimizing the riskof pinching.
At each end the combs meshdeeply into the belt tread to prevent objects from jamming.
All safety features, including fireresistance, meet or exceed allnecessary international safetycodes, including EN 115 and ANSI.

Versatile Specification
The choice of three tread widthsand four different speeds providesmultiple options for meeting individual traffic-flow needs.Schindler 9500 is available in anylength up to a maximum of 100 m.For longer runs and special applications please contact oursales office, who will be pleasedto advise you.
Compact Installation
The exceptionally shallow pitdepth of only 315 mm in the center section offers economiesin floor cavity design for newinstallations and greatly simplifiesthe integration of Schindler 9500into existing locations. This compact design is achieved bymounting the center section supports directly onto weldingplates, which lie flat in the pit base.
