What type of energy is needed to initiate (begin) photosynthesis?
Energy from the sun that is called radiant energy.
What is biomass?
Biomass is the total mass of all living matter in a given area. This matter can be converted to energy.
What happens in a compost bin?
The organic material begins to decompose and eventually turns into compost/soil. Energy is released as heat. Energy is transferred from the material into heat released into the atmosphere and energy used by the decomposers.
