package (SportDesign front apron and

rear spoiler) as well as a modified front

spoiler lip and a fixed-wing profile on the

rear spoiler. Tested and refined in the

Porsche wind tunnel, the components

increase downforce on both axles and

improve handling. They also emphasise

the 911’s sporting heritage.

If your vehicle is already equipped with the

Note on the use of winter tyresSummer tyres provide optimum

performance at ambient temperatures

above +7 °C. Below this point, the tyre

compound begins to harden and braking

distances are increased. We therefore

recommend that you fit winter tyres

during the colder months of the year so

that you can drive your 911 safe in the

knowledge that it will continue to meet

our high standards for driving safety

even at low temperatures. All winter tyres

approved by Porsche are identifiable

by the ‘N’ designation on the sidewall. The

crucial advantage of winter tyres is that

they reduce braking distances at low

temperatures (below +3 °C).

The 911 and motorsport make an insepa-

rable team. The knowledge we gain on

racetracks all over the world is constantly

being put to use to the benefit of our

production cars. The result is tangible in

the form of continuously improved perfor-

mance, down to the last detail. And the

best thing about it? You have the ability

to improve it further still thanks to the

Porsche Tequipment range of accessories.

Whether it’s a sports exhaust system or a

Powerkit engine upgrade, all our products

focus on one goal: to enhance the perfor-

mance of your Porsche, and to give you

even more driving pleasure.

The only alternative to power? Even more power.

In plain figures, we have managed to

increase power output from 294 kW

(400 hp) to 316 kW (430 hp) and improve

acceleration from 0 to 62 mph by

0.1 seconds. The 911 Carrera S models

with PDK1 and SPORT PLUS button complete

the sprint in an impressive 4.0 seconds.

The fastest variant in the range reaches a

top speed of 191 mph.

To develop the Powerkit, a number of

sophisticated measures were needed.

The cylinder head intake ports have been

reworked and given a polished finish.

The stroke of the intake camshaft has

been increased and the electronic engine

management adapted accordingly.

The highlight of the Carrera S Powerkit is

the newly developed variable resonance

intake manifold with six plus one switchable

valves. This innovation enables the system

to switch between power- and torque-

optimised geometries and deliver a boost

in power output, particularly in the upper

speed range. The extra heat generated by

this power increase is dissipated by an

additional centre radiator.

Other components include the sports

exhaust system with two specially designed

twin tailpipes and the titanium-coloured

engine cover featuring inlays in carbon.

sports car. The source of this passion

can be traced back to the Porsche Devel-

opment Centre in Weissach. Here, our

designers and engineers give their all to

produce breakthrough after breakthrough.

The most recent accomplishment is the

new Carrera S Powerkit – available for

the 911 Carrera S models (type 991).

[1] Sports exhaust system The typical Porsche sound – powerful,

robust and sporty. Better still, it can

be further enhanced thanks to the sports

exhaust system, featuring a modified

silencer and specially designed twin dual-

tube tailpipes. By simply pressing the

button integrated in the right half of the

control panel, the sound will vary with

driving behaviour, ranging from a robust

output during normal road driving to a

distinctively more aggressive tone during

performance use. The specially designed

tailpipes are included as standard.

Once you have downloaded the logbooks

[1] Mobile phone preparation To enable a Bluetooth® connection for

those mobile phones that only support

the Handsfree Profile (HFP), an optional

hands-free facility is available. With HFP,

the PCM acts merely as a hands-free

system. It is possible to control basic

functions of the mobile phone using PCM

or the optional multifunction steering

wheel. The GSM connection is established

through the aerial of the mobile phone.
