St. Agnes’ Choral Society has been entertaining the people of Belfast for over fift y years. Tisyear sees the award winning company return to the Grand Opera House Belfast with theirproduction of the Dolly Parton Musical: 9 to 5!

Our company has provided a training ground for young people who have gone on toprofessional performance careers in Opera, West End Productions, elevision and Teatrework. Kate McCarney, a past member of St. Agnes’, went on to become a mezzo-soprano

with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, while Glen Wallace, another past member, hasbeen nominated for Best Actor in the British Soap Awards. One of our most recent leadingmen, Patrick Smyth, has appeared in the West End musicals Hair, Phantom Of Te Operaand We Will Rock You while other company members have gone on to pursue a career inmusical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music.

We feel it is important to introduce and encourage the youth of today to become involved inmusical theatre, as not only will the production entertain audiences, but those young peoplewho become involved will gain such an invaluable experience. Not only will they acquirea repertoire of stage skills, they will grow in confidence, develop social skills and have theopportunity to develop friendships across the community.

In the current economic climate, St Agnes’ is facing one of the biggest challenges in its historyand we were hoping that you could help us with our production of 9 to 5 this year. Our society,at present, receives no Arts Council funding and survives on ticket sales and the generosityof individuals and companies who recognise the value that performing arts has for society atlarge.

With this in mind, we have put together a number of sponsorship programmes that may beof interest to you. With sponsorship starting at as little as £75, you can make a real differencewith every penny going towards the cost of staging the show. Please see the list of packagesavailable in this brochure

However, if you are unable to sponsor our production, there is an opportunity to take out anadvert in our programme. (For your information, there will be six performances of 9 to 5, withthe Grand Opera House able to accommodate at least 1,000 people for each perf ormance).

ABOUT ST. AGNES’ CHORAL SOCIETY ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Te production will take place in Northern Ireland’s Premiere Teatre, Te Grand Opera House,

Belfast from uesday 12th - Saturday 16th April for six performances and has already attracted

bookings from all over the UK and Ireland.

Following their award-winning production of Hairspray, St. Agnes’ Choral Society isdelighted to bring 9 to 5 the Musical to Belfast. Te hilarious musical comedy, based on thehit movie, centres around three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist boss.

Outrageous, thought provoking and even a little romantic, 9 to 5 the Musical is about teamingup and taking care of business. Featuring original numbers from Dolly Parton’s Oscar, onyand Grammy Award nominated score including Backwoods Barbie, Shine Like the Sun andthe original hit song 9 to 5.
