About:Kaunas Paediatric Clinic services half of all children’s cancer
patients in Lithuania. It is the only hospital treating tumours of the central nervous system, among other areas, and 1 of 2 hospitals treating blood cancers in Lithuania. A new 5.000m2 building opens in 2011, which will increase capacity to care for children with cancer as well as rare, severe, and/or chronic diseases.
Needs:22 wards require full installation.

About:This is a non-governmental organisation caring for 22
children from 3 to 18 years old who are without parental care. Paparčiai is about 45 km north of Vilnius.

About:This organisation helps women and their children who
suffer domestic violence or abusive homes. They receive accommodation for 6 months, as well as psychological and legal support.

About:The basis of the „Big Brothers Big Sisters in Lithuania" program is the
professionally-supported relationship of an adult volunteer and a child, which helps strengthening the child, fosters the child's self-confidence and ability to interact positively with others, as well as care for oneself and others. Currently the program is operating in communities and schools across Lithuania.
Needs: Children play-therapy room equipment; Renovation of the play-therapy room;Office equipment – a laptop and media that will be used in the office
during events for children and volunteers (movie afternoons, lectures, seminars, volunteer training, etc.).

“Youth Line” FoundationParamos fondas “Jaunimo linija”
About:“Youth Line” supports youth in difficult life situations, helps them
overcome crisis and aims to prevent suicide in the country with one of the highest suicide rates in the world. Volunteers have provided emotional support for young Lithuanians, 24 hours a day, all year round, for 20 years. In 2010 volunteers answered ~ 256 calls and many emails per day.

About:Tremtiniu Namai ensures short- or long- term care for
pensioners who need constant supervision. Special priority is given to Lithuanians who have experienced forms of repression during Soviet and Nazi occupations, particularly former political prisoners, exiles, and participants of the resistance.

About:“Gile” provides care , education and social services to children
without parental care or in guardianship. There are 70 children from 3 to 18 years old. Children attend schools (all forms) or vocational training centres in Vilnius. Life is organized by the principle of foster families; 6 families care for up to 12 children of all ages.

About:Similar to “Gile”, the orphanage cares for 85 children from 3
to 18 years old living without parental care or in guardianship. They attend secondary schools, vocational training centres. Children living in care homes are provided with accommodation, meals, health services, information, advice, representation and mediation in everyday life, and job skills training and support.
