Extreme close up on the hands of the character , this shot shows movement of the hands which can portray into stress or being nervous which suggests that there is something out of the ordinary occurred in this sequence.

Close up shot on the face of the character, this shot follows on from the shot of the hands. The effect of the close up shot is to show the blood on the characters face and the nervous sweat running down his right cheek, again this shot definitely portrays that there is something out of the ordinary occurred. Example a crime of murder.

Typical convention of a film noir style is used in this shot using shadows and strips of light to make the shot seem more dated. The splatters of blood frame the head of the victim in this shot which is a clear connotation of a murder.
