The effect of the close up shot is to show the blood on the characters face and the nervous sweat running down his right cheek, again this shot definitely portrays that there is something out of the ordinary occurred. Example a crime of murder.

Extreme close up shot on blood running, the effect of this shot is to tell the audience that there has been violence or a murder in this film, but by just using a close up shot on the blood and not a shot of the body creates a suspense for the viewer to keep watching to find out what has happened.

Again another closer up shot is used on the case of the the bullet which is another clue that a crime has been made. This shot uses a shallow focus has the background behind the bullet is not in focus, the effect of this is to portray the how he mind of the murderer is not clear for them to commit a crime like this.

Typical convention of a film noir style is used in this shot using shadows and strips of light to make the shot seem more dated. This shot is in black and white which expresses the shadow convention of a film noir as the strip of light , highlights the eye to express the way he is feeling.
