Welcomebacktotheearlyarrivals.Ithasbeenabusysummerforyourboardofdirectors.No,thewallswillnotbecoveredwithsign-upsheetsthisyear.Learningfromwhatyoutolduslastyear,thefocusoftheBoardisinthedirectionofeducationforallmediumsandsocializationformembersofWAC.

VPRickMcGillhasbeenworkingontheeducationofferingscomingupthisyear.Keepyoureyesopenforthee-blaststhatwillinformyouoftheclasses.

ThefirstfellowshipgettogetherisscheduledforSept22.MarkyourcalendarsandbesuretorespondtoLindaMcNultyifyouwillbeattending.BBQchickenandribswillbesuppliedbyWAC.Bringanofferingtopassandbringyourbeverageofchoice.

Throughtheuseofournewmediaprogram,wehavetheabilitytorecordhowmanyofyouopenyouremails.Itisverydisturbingtoyourboardthatonly50%oftheentiremembershipactuallyopensthenewsletterande-blasts.Pleasekeepintouchbyreadingyoure-mail.

DuringthesummertheclayprogramgainednewlifethroughtheleadershipofJackieRaatzandDougCrammer.WehaveinstitutedanneweducationprogramthatincludesintroductiontotheRulesandRegulationsfortheClayRoom.Anyonecompletingthisclasshasaccesstotheclayroom.CallJackieformoreoftheparticulars.Todate,elevenpeoplehavetakentheclass.

InearlyJuneWACappliedforagrantthroughtheWellikFoundation.Weaskedforagranttopurchasenewequipmentfortheclayroom.Wewerenotifiedthisweekthatwereceivedapartialgrantthatwillcoverthecostofanewkiln.Thegrantisintheamount$6,980.00.

Ifyouhaven’tstoppedoverattheMuseumtoseeWestofCenter,pleasedoso.Itisagreatshow.Youcanbeveryproudoftheartists.Thelevelofqualityisraisedeveryyear.Theshowisthreemonthslongthisyearsoyouhavetwomoremonthstoseeit.Elevenworksofarthavebeensoldsofar.ThankyouPierreProutyfortakingthetimeandefforttochair

Wickenburg Home Tour and Holiday Market Karen Douglass

The2017HomeTourandHolidayMarket,presentedbyLasSeñorasdeSocorroAuxiliaryoftheDesertCaballerosMuseum,willbeheldonSaturday,November4attheWickenburgCommunityCenter.LasSenorasencouragesWAC’sparticipationinanewlyenergizedandplannedeventthisyear.TherearetwowaysWACartistscanparticipateandselltheirartworkattheHolidayMarket:

1. RentboothspacefromLosSeñorasinthemainroomoftheCommunityCenter.KarenDouglasswillhaveentryforms.Thecostofthespaceis$50.00.Thiswillgiveyoutwo6’tablessetinanLshape,with8linearfeetoftablespace.

2. WACwillprovidetablesandwallspaceinthebanquetroom.Thecostis$10.00per1/2table(36”)and$10.00per38-inchwallspace.Spaceisrentedfromtheartclub,andtheartclubwillcollectallsalemonies,takethenormal15%,andsendcheckstotheartists.Thereisasignupsheetonthetableinthelibraryifyouareinterested.

WANTS VENDORS! The show is located in the lovely park next to the library. Its purpose is to raise money for the Friends of the Library and also to give avid crafters a place to sell their wares.

Show time is 10 AM – 4 PM w/ set up after 8 AM. You may participate in any or all shows. The fee for a 10+ ft. X 10+ ft. space is $25.00. Crafters must provide their own tables & tents. Tents are optional.

Advertising includes ad in local paper, 4 large tent signs at highways, banner at West Plaza stagecoach, Chamber websites & social media & flyer distribution to local hotels. Morning snacks & refreshments are provided as a THANK YOU for your participation.
