85 th BIRTHDAY OF PROFESSOR BED~ICH gALAMON
On July 16, 1965, we celebrated the 85 th birthday of the oldest pioneer of Czechoslovak geophysicists, Professor Bed~ich ~alamon, holder of the Order of Labour, former director of the State Geophysical Institute and ordinary professor of mathematical geography and carto- graphy at Charles University in Prague. His scientific, pedagogical as well as organizing activity and also his merits in the development of Czechoslovak geophysics were dealt with both in our journal t) and "Travaux G6ophysiques"2).
On this occasion and in this issue of our journal we all, his students, followers, former co-wor- kers and sincere friends, would like to wish Professor ~alamon good health and strength in the next years of his life, devoted to fruitful and successful work.
