Annette was due to age up into a teen, and couldn’t wait. She’d finally be able to ride Peps, and she would be in Megan’s class in school. Everything would be so much better.

Ariette had planned a simple day with Annette. She had offered to run a big party, but Annette had resisted. Her friends were all too different, and half of them were ignoring her. All she wanted was hot-dogs for dinner and a day with her mum.

Ariette insisted on a cake though, and Annette was glad she had. It was her first age-up out of the boarding school she had grown up in, and it made it all so much more special. She had dreamed of birthdays like this her whole life.

Ariette had got her few bits and pieces to mark the occasion. Nothing too expensive, she would be paying for riding lessons instead. Annette hugged her mum, content.

Ambrose knew she could sometimes be described as scatterbrained. True to type, she hadn’t noticed her body going through any changes until she felt a sharp jab in her midriff.

Realising she was pregnant was a pleasant surprise. It was just a shame Frank was still away with work, she would have liked to show him the baby kicking.

She told Bernice when she got home from work. She said it so calmly and matter of fact that Bernice didn’t believe her at first. Where was the shock, the emotion?! Ambrose replied she was happy, why would she make a fuss?

Bernice rolled her eyes and gave her friend a hug. It was typical Ambrose, not noticing her symptoms for so long, and then not getting worked up about it at all. Maybe she just needed some time for it to sink in.

But as time went on Ambrose didn’t freak out. When questioned, she did seem to understand that having a baby was a huge responsibility, and that not knowing where the father was is a bad thing. But she didn’t seem phased by anything.

Trinity was going through some changes herself. She had stopped dying her hair black, and toned down the gothic aspect of her daily outfits. She didn’t feel like she was growing up out of it, the goth lifestyle wasn’t just for teens after all . But she did feel she needed a change.

She talked all her feelings and frustrations through with her partner Edward. Her sister had caused her to question her lifestyle, and she wanted to make some changes. The next job they did together would be her last. She still loved him, but didn’t want to be a criminal anymore.

Edward was satisfied she wasn’t going to snitch to the police the moment she went straight, so told her he was fine with it. But was he really?
