ABOUT THE DIRECTOR Bart Van den Bempt is a psychologist turned film director. After his graduation from film school in Brussels, he travelled around the world on a cargo ship and made the stretch of land between Istanbul and Kyoto his most beloved part of the planet. Initially working as an assistant director and producer, he became partner of production company Roses Are Blue in 1998 and started directing commercials. Seven years later, he decided to become freelance again and ever since he combines working for television and theatre with writing scripts and directing commercials. 82 Days in April is Bart Van den Bempt’s debut as a feature film director.

ABOUT THE PRODUCEREllen De Waele started working in the film industry in South Africa. After her return to Belgium and a career in the advertising industry, she became managing director and producer of Brussels-based production company CCCP. She produced a range of projects, such as Wim Vandekeybus’ dance film Blush, Koen Mortier’s Ex Drummer, and the short films Carlo and The One Thing to Do by Michaël R. Roskam. Ellen De Waele launched her own production company Serendipity Films in 2006, and since then has produced such critically acclaimed documentaries as Grande Hotel (Lotte Stoops) and Epilogue (Manno Lanssens) and has co-produced feature films like Nadine (Erik De Bruyn) and Brownian Movement (Nanouk Leopold). In 2013, she and director Tom Van Avermaet got nominated for an Academy Award® for the short Death of a Shadow.
