Age six to ninety-six
How to play CuWizard Peg selection
Drop 14 pegs of each colour into the Culica bag and shake them up.
When it is their go, players pull a peg from the bag.
Moving
The first player puts their peg onto the Culica. The next player puts
their peg next to that peg,
side-by-side
. But their peg must be a different colour from any peg in any Wizard
(Wizards are explained below) that the peg is in. A peg can go on thesame or a different face of the Culica
but only if its next to another peg, side-by-side.
What is a "Wizard"?
A wizard is a straight row of 4 pegs that are side-by-side, where each
adjoining face has two pegs
.

Four wizards: Three are labelled 1, 2 and 3. Can you see the fourthwizard? Hint - it is horizontal and contains a green peg, a blue peg andtwo yellow pegs.
A multicolour wizard
Another multicolour wizardAs in the pictures, the CuWizard game requires all wizards to bemulticolour wizards. A multicolour wizardis made of one red peg, oneyellowpeg, onegreenpeg and onebluepeg, but they can be in any order.
Two more multicolour wizards, labelled 1 and 2. They share a greenpeg.PlayThe players continue in turn. Each player puts a peg on the Culica Buttheir peg must be a different colour from any peg in anyWizardWhat if I cant place my peg?

You cannot lose until one peg of each colour is already on the Culica. If
you can't go until then, swap your peg for a new peg from the bag at
random untlil you cango.
If you cannot go and there are already four different colours on the
Culica, then you lose gracefully.
So who wins?
The CuWizardMaster who survives the longest, wins.
What isnt allowed?
These wizards are not allowed because they are not multicoloured
wizards.

The yellow peg with the red cross drawn on it is not allowed because it
means that the (partically formed) wizard it is in cannot be multicolour
(due to two yellow pegs).

This is not allowed because it means that the (partically formed) wizardthe pegs are in is cannot be multicolour (due to twoyellow pegs). What are Allowed?
Any position that always allows multicoloured wizards to be formed.
The above position, despite having two yellow pegs in close proximity, i
s
OK! This is because two yellow pegs actually belong to different
(partially formed) wizards. Those two wizards share the red peg. Such a
wizard, when fully formed, might look like the multicolour wizard below.

Rules options.
- Assign peg colours to players.
And/or
- To introduce more skill, allow players to have 3 random pegs at
any time (pulling a new random peg from the bag after each move).
Single Player Rules.
You play exactly the same way as the Multi-player game - but its
always your turn!

Completely fill the Culica with multi-colour wizards. Each peg placed
scores you one point. Keep a note of your high score, then try to beat it
next time.
Notes
We have found only one way to completely solve CuWizard single
player (ignoring the trivial extra solutions caused by swapping colours,
rotation or mirror reflections). If you find more than one, or can
mathematically show that there is onlyone solution, let us know!
The solution is incredible, by the way!
