ALL WINCHES HAVE A DUTY CYCLE. DUTY CYCLE IS DETERMINED BY, THE WEIGHT OF THE LOAD, IF IT IS A ROLLING LOAD (ON WHEELS OR SOME TYPE OF ROLLERS) OR A DEAD PULL LOAD (LYING ON THE GROUND OR SURFACE THAT CAN INTERFERE WITH THE PULL OF THE LOAD), AND IF IT IS PULLING ON A FLAT SURFACE OR UP AN INCLINE, ALONG WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS. ALL THESE FACTORS WILL DETERMINE HOW LONG YOU CAN CONTINUALLY USE THE WINCH UNTIL YOU MUST STOP TO LET THE MOTOR COOL DOWN, DUTY CYCLE.

THE EASIEST AND OUR RECOMMENDED WAY TO DETERMINE WHEN THE MOTOR NEEDS TO COOL DOWN IS TO STOP THE WINCH, CAREFULLY PLACE YOUR HAND ON THE MOTOR AFTER 3 TO 4 MINUTES OF CONTINUES USE, IF IT SO HOT YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR HAND ON THE MOTOR FOR A COUNT OF 10, THEN IT NEEDS TO COOL DOWN TO THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE BEFORE STARTING TO PULL AGAIN. CONTINUE TO CHECK MOTOR ALL THROUGHOUT THE TIME YOU ARE USING IT, UNTIL IT GETS TOO HOT, THEN STOP AND ALLOW THE UNIT TO COOL DOWN AGAIN.
