What type of antennas would you like your tower to support? The larger the antenna, the stronger the tower must be. Check wind load rat-ings for your antenna, and compare them with the tower. Make sure that the wind loads are rated at 87 mph or greater.

The Hazer Tram System

Besides the obvious quality of Martin Aluminum Towers, tower users appreciate the conve-nience and usability of the Hazer Tram System. The Hazer is a unique three sided eleva-tor cage that rides around the outside edge of your tower. (See right) A winch at the ground, and a pulley at the top of the tower, move the unit up and down the tower. A safe-ty latch operates past each of the horizontal braces on the tower, much like a ladder lock. This guarantees safety, and provides the peace of mind you deserve.

GROUNDING

Mounting another antenna on Martin Towers & the Hazer is a snap using this 36” long side arm. The side arm easily bolts directly to the bottom or top of the Hazer main frame, either in a right or left hand direction. Attach a pulley for an inverted vee antenna, or mount a rotor with small yagi. Manufactured of high quality aluminum.

You may have a mechanical ground, but do you have an electric ground? Lightning rods provide protection against damaging lightning which can greatly effect antennas, rota-tors and other components.

The lightning rod is clamped to the highest point on the mast. The ground wire is con-nected to the lightning rod and is ran all the way to the earth ground rod.

A complete kit is available which provides everything needed (order cable separate-ly) to ensure a proper ground. The system is designed to achieve a ground resistance of 25 ohms or less.

How does it work?The Hazer works like a simple elevator designed to easily raise and lower your antennas, measuring instruments, rota-tors, etc. The Hazer is designed to wrap around the tower. A pulley at the top of the tower, along with a winch and wire rope is used to raise and lower the antenna. It’s as simple as raising a flag up a flag pole. No Climbing! Pulley Installation

May Guy Wires be used with the Hazer?A fifty foot tower will require only one set of guy wires in most cases. We suggest putting these guys at the very top of the tower in the few inches just above the Hazer. To lower a beam antenna, disconnect two guys by completely unscrewing the turnbuckles at the ground. The guys then will drape in toward the tower. The Hazer can then be lowered to the ground. Once down, the guys can be reconnected. Imagine having a completely guyed tower with your antenna system parked at ground level. Never worry about storms again!

3The Safety Latch System locks past each horizontal brace on the tower on its way up or down the tower. When in position at the top of the tower, the Hazer is lowered slightly to the nearest brace so the safety latch engages. The cable carries the load only when raising or lowering the Hazer.
