Provide access to and information about the work, successes, and current challenges of the U.N. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)

Promote increased youth participation in the achievement of the MDGs

Youth Achievement Recognition is awarded to 16-18 year old high school students throughout the world who are nominated by their faculty or community leaders.

Perform at the United Nations as well as other venues in Manhattan: Appear in the special U.C. Peace Arts Festival celebrating world cultures

Learn how to use the arts to promote peace and mutual understanding in workshops designed especially for performance groups

Participate in the annual Youth Assembly at the UN and engage in exclusive cultural exchanges and informal networking opportunities with hundreds of youth leaders from around the world

In 2002, the original concept for the Youth Assembly at the United Nations was formed by Patrick Sciarratta, Executive Director, Friendship Ambassadors Foundation and Dr. Elaine Valdov, Director, International Institute for the Culture of Peace. Since then, the project has been under FAF’s management.

Since 2003, U.N. Headquarters and Pace University have been the venues for the Youth Assembly. The Leadership Seminar, in 2010, will be hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University.
