Shinsaibashi~is one of Osaka's two major city centers. It is the city's most famous entertainment district. Gokayama - Takayama : Shirakawa Villages ~ The Shirakawa-go and neighboring Gokayama regions line the Shogawa River Valley in the remote mountains that span from Gifu to Toyama Prefectures. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995, they are famous for their traditional gassho- zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old. Wada House ~ Is the largest house in Shirakawa-go. This house is said to be from the middle of the Edo period (from the 18 th to 19 th centuries), and prospered in the community as a dealer of gunpowder. Although the house is still used as a residence, half of the first floor and the second floor are on public display. Takayama Jinya ~ The building originally belonged to Lord Kanamori, ruler of the Hida Takayama Han, who used it as his villa. However, after the Bakufu Government sought to bring Hida under its direct control in 1629, it was rebuilt by Ina Tadaatsu and served as offices for the local deputy administrator. After 1777, it became the local government office. Kyoto : Kiyomizu Temple~was originally associated with the Hosso sect, one of the oldest schools within Japanese Buddhism, but formed its own Kita Hosso sect in 1965. In 1994, the temple was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. Fushimi Inari-Taisha~ The shrine sits at the base of a mountain also named Inari which is 233 metres above sea level, and includes trails up the mountain to many smaller shrines which span 4 kilometers and takes approximately 2 hours to walk up. Gion~ is Kyoto's most famous geisha district, gion attracts tourists with its high concentration of traditional wooden machiya merchant houses. Due to the fact that property taxes were formerly based upon street frontage, the houses were built with narrow facades only five to six meters wide, but extend up to twenty meters in from the street. Hakone (Mt Fuji) : Mt Fuji 5 th Station~At 2300 meters above sea level, the Kawaguchiko 5th Station offers a commanding view of the Fuji Five Lakes area below. An observation point with unobstructed views of Fujiyoshida City. Oshino Hakkai ~ The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopesof nearby Mount Fuji that filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals. Tokyo : Asakusa Kannon Temple~is a Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. It is one of Tokyo's most colorful and popular temples. Nakamise Street~a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries. Odaiba Seaside Park~ is a popular shopping and entertainment district on a man-made island in Tokyo Bay. It originated as a set of small man made fort islands (daiba literally means "fort"), which were built towards the end of the Edo Period (1603-1868) to protect Tokyo against possible attacks from the sea and specifically in response to the gunboat diplomacy of Commodore Perry.     Osaka Castle~ The castle is one of Japan's most famous, and played a major role in the unification of Japan during the sixteenth century of the Azuchi-Momoyama period.

    Shinsaibashi~is one of Osaka's two major city centers. It is the city's most famous entertainment district.

    Shirakawa Villages ~ The Shirakawa-go and neighboring Gokayama regions line the Shogawa River Valley in the remote mountains that span from Gifu to Toyama Prefectures.
