IMPERATIVEA. Imperative sentenceDefinition: imperatives are verbs are used to give orders, commands, warning or intructions, and ( if you use please ) to make a request. It is one of the three moods of an English verb (indicative, imperative, and subjunctive).For example : Give the tape, please!To make the imperative,use the infinitive of the verb without toFor example : Come, here! Sit down!To make a negative imperative, put do not or dont before the verb :For example : Dont go! Do not walk on the grass.
B. Kegunaan imperative sentence1. Positive Command with the verb, patterned:V + ...! atau V + O + ...!Example :Come here! Leave me! Come on time! 2. Negative command verb, patterned:Don't + V + ... !Example:Don't come here! Don't leave me! Don't come late! 3. Positive command without a verb, patterned:Be + Adjective !Example:Be quiet! Be careful! Be diligent! 4. Negative command without a verb, patterned:Don't + be + adjective !Example:Don't be shy! Don't be careless! Don't be lazy!
To make an order be polite to use the word "please", which could use the commands (both positive and negative).
