CASE STUDY: CORPORATE STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATION TO UTILIZE BIG DATA

In this paper, I review activities and organizational models when the company is working on big data expansion, and evalu-ate the impact of spread of IoT and AI on big data analysis and data scientist's job skills.

I also hypothesize that a platform strategy is indispensable for the business strategy of big data and conduct a case study of four companies that have already introduced big data such as SoftBank, Mitsubishi Motors, Komatsu, and Rakuten.

I discuss the approach of each company's big data business, future strategy, and organizational behavior, from the perspective of platform strategy.
