To My Brothers and Sisters in the Lord at Philippi Baptist," Thank you so much

for all the emails, texts, iMessages, letters and prayers after the passing of my birth mother, Jana Fleming. Thank you for doing your part, and going above and beyond in many ways, not just in that week, but in the years leading up to now. I am reminded of Revelation 20, where it talks about books being opened, and then another book being opened, entitled the Book of Life. I think about it in this way: Our lives are books, with the different chapters composed of our many journeys in life - early years, schooling, marriage, career, with the most important chapter being our own story of salvation. While the Book of Life acts like a roster of the redeemed, I believe, in my biblical imagination, that the “other books” are our life stories, composing the whole of our Lord’s redemptive work through Christ. I am thankful that many of YOUR names are included in my story, either through word or deed just as simple as praying when a young man has lost his mom. My family appreciated the love that was shown to us, and the unity that your prayers and the Holy Spirit brought us in the midst of our sorrow.
