The700FTIRcanserveavarietyofanalyticalapplications,includingdieselemissions,CEM
monitoring,ammoniaslip,SCRinlet/outletmoni-toring,processmonitoringandothers.
UnlikeotherFTIRanalyzers,the700FTIRdoesnotrequireliquidnitrogen,eliminatingtheneedtoconstantlyfillLN2dewarsandtheassociatedsafetyissues.Itssmallfootprintandlightweightalloweasyinstallationandtransportabilitywhenrequired.
The700FTIRAnalyzerisbasedonFourierTransformInfraredSpectroscopy.Nonsymmetricalgas-phasemoleculesabsorbIRlight,causingthemolecularbondstostretch,bendorrotate.Thisabsorptionisusedtomeasureandquantifyseveralchemicalcomponentssimultaneously.
AnIRsourceemitsradiationintherangeof7500to375cm–1.TheIRradiationissplitinaninterferometer,wherethelightissplittowardtwomovingcorner-cubemirrors.Thetwobeamsrecombineandpass
througha10.2-metermulti-reflectiongascellwherethesampleabsorbslightatmolecule-specificfrequencies.TheremaininglightismeasuredwithaDTGSdetectorandFouriertransformedtoconvertfromthetimedomaintothefrequencydomain.Thisproducesasingle-beamspectrumthatisratioedwithabaselinespectrum,produc-inganabsorbancespectrum.TheabsorbancespectrumisquantifiedwithPLSchemometricstoproduceaconcentrationvalue.
