1. Find a comfortable place to sit

Sitting on a comfortable chair is the first step in performing self-hypnosis. Choose a room that's a bit quiet and has dimmer light. When you've found the spot, try to relax, and take three deep breaths to send signals to your brain that you're about to start hypnosis.

2. Relax Your Body

Once you've read the sentence, imagine yourself doing it. It should feel real that you think it has already happened.

6. Go back to the staircase

Now, return to the door you came out of and climb back. As you take one step after another, feel yourself coming out of your trance and becoming more awake. As you take the last step, tell yourself “I’m wide awake now. I’m wide awake and alert.”

7. Open Your Eyes

You might not feel any difference the moment you wake up – that's totally normal. The effects of the hypnosis will slowly come about in your life.
