Nanofood is any food substance created by the applica on of nanothechnological techniques in any part of the food chain-cul -va on, produc on, processing, or packaging – not just in food itself. Nowadays, more and more people are choosing nanofoods

in their diet. There are diff erent opinions about nanofood. The big ques on is: Is it frightening or benefi cial?One point in favour, is that with nanofood we have the ability to personalize our own food and drinks in our needs and our prefer-

ences. In addi on to that , with this kind of food, we can enjoy junk food without harming our body or ge ng fat.Another advantage is that these foods could be wrapped in smart packages which

can detect spoilage or even track the food so that you know that it is safe.Despite the advantages there are also some disadvantages. To begin with, we don’t

know what eff ects nanofoods could have ,not only on our bodies, but also on the environment. Another serious problem is that our privacy could be invaded from the smart packages.

Opponents also argue that the human body has a remarkable ability to respond to invaders. Thus, nanotech would be considered an invader and white blood cells could a ack the technology. Suppressing the immune system could have unforeseeable consequences.

To sum up, nanotechnology has great poten al but in the wrong hands it could be weaponized to destroy the human body. Moreover, relying too much on nanotechnol-ogy can weaken the body’s natural defense systems, making the body depen-dent on nanotech to survive.

TigersIt is the largest member of the cat family. It is 1 metre tall and 2 or 3 metres long. Tigers have beau -ful black and orange striped fur, pointed ears and yellow eyes. Tigers live in Asia, in countries like India and Nepal, in forests or mountains . It is a nocturnal animal. Its popula on is 3.000-5.000.It is an endangered species because of habitat loss and hun ng.

Mountain GorillasIts height is 2 metres and weighs 160 kilos. It is intelligent and gentle . It eats plants and insects. It lives in the forests of central Africa .There are less than 400 now in the wild because of deforesta on.

Black RhinosIt is about 4 m long, and 1,70 height and weighs 3 tonnes. It is the second largest mammal a er the elephant..It’s a big herbivorous animal, it lives in Africa and Asia, in small groups, near water. It can run 40 km per hour. People Kill it for its horn.

PandasThe pandas live in China. The pandas are also called the Asian Bears. The pandas eat bamboo leaves. The weight of the male panda is 175-250 pounds. The height of the panda is 2-3 feet tall. It is a great climber and swimmer. Pandas are fewer than 1.000 in the wild because of deforesta on and hun ng for their so fur.

Turtles care a-care aIt weighs about 135 kg. Its length is about 95 cm. Its skin has a yellow and

brown colour and its shell is reddish brown. It is an excellent swimmer, it can swim at thirty kilometres per hour. It can easily catch fi sh and escape from most natural predators, but unfortunately, it gets trapped in nets and eats plas c bags so it dies. Also very few baby turtles manage to survive.

Jeremy Jeremy is a famous you tuber in Greece .His real name is George Argyris and he is 23 years old. He causes a lot of fun with his comments on some video clips. When his grandma gave him a video camera as a present , two years ago, he decided, to start making funny videos and share them on the YouTube channel.

Everything was perfect until the fi rst bombs started exploding. In 2011, a civil war started in Syria. Houses, hospi-tals, schools, mosques, landmarks and public buildings started being destroyed. Millions of people were injured and millions of others were killed. The survivors were forced to leave their country and seek asylum in other countries, mainly in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Iran and Turkey. Only 10% of the refugees have gone to Europe. Almost 4 million people have left Syria.

However, has anybody wondered… How do those people live? Where do they live? What do they eat? What will their future be? And most importantly, what can we do?

It is a fact that when the refugees arrive in another country they face a plethora of problems, such as homelessness, lack of money and lack of food. Furthermore, they have not got any clothes or shoes. Many of them get sick and have not got any medication. Thus, they either die or spread the diseases causing epidemics. Each country offers plots of land to refugees, where they set tents and – actually – their whole life. However, living conditions are very poor and unhealthy, and this is very dangerous for everyone, and especially the children who live there. One of the most important problems is that refugees also have to deal with the loss of their family and this is really hard. Their life is so diffi cult and their only chance to have a better future is each and every one of us to offer some help.

Initially, we can offer them accommodation a safe place to stay until they stand on their own feet again. Additionally, we should donate shoes and clothes we do not need anymore. Another thing we can all do is to collect food and give it either to organizations which deal with refugee issues or to those supermarkets which collect useful products for the refugees. Moreover, it is very important to gather medicine and vaccines so that children do not suffer from deadly illnesses.

What is also necessary for those children is to go to school so that they are educated, spend their time cre-atively and also get adapted to their new environment.

This situation is so diffi cult and dangerous for those people. And the next days will be even harder if we do not do something to help them. Thus, we must all wake up! We must inform people around us! We must share what we know with everyone! We should sensitize people and raise awareness on this issue the soonest possible, so that we can all start taking real action!

WAKE UP! IT’S ABOUT TIME WE ALL DID SOMETHING!

Elaboración de la receta polvorones:Calienta el horno a 150ºC y coloca la

harina sobre la placa del horno. Extiéndela con una espátula. Introduce en el horno y tuéstala durante 6 minutos. Retírala del horno, remuévela con la espátula y tuéstala durante otros 6 minutos.

Tamiza la harina y colócala en un bol. Añade la canela, el azúcar, limpia el limón, sécalo y ralla encima un poco de la cáscara. Agrega la manteca y el anís y amasa bien.Espolvorea la encimera con un poco de harina, coloca encima la masa, espolvoréala con otro poco de harina y estírala con un rodillo hasta conseguir una plancha de 1,5 centímetros de grosor. Con un cortapastas redondo corta los polvorones y colócalos sobre una bandeja forrada con papel de hornear.Junta los recortes, amásalos de nuevo, estíralos y repite el proceso.Hornea a 170ºC durante 15 minutos. Deja

enfriar, espolvorea con azúcar glas y sirve los polvorones.Consejo:Es muy importante tostar bien la harina. Si no entra bien esparcida sobre la placa de horno, será mejor que lo hagas en 2 tandas.
