7 PRINCIPLES AND FACTORS FOR LEADERSHIP

We don't want a situation where others decide our destiny and our future for us. Our destiny has already been decided by the word of God; and we want to see that no matter what happens in our countries we would be able to fulfil that destiny that God has planned for us.

I've been lead by the spirit of God discuss:

SEVEN IMPORTANT FACTORS THAT WOULD POSITION EACH OF US FOR THE ADVANTAGE.

Don't let the failures our hardship around you make you think that the future is bleak. Don't let the darkness put out your light.

It's very easy to listen to the news media who speculate fearfully on the future, and be filled with fear. The failures that we find in the nations of the world are not new, they happen again and again.

The future belongs to those who would prepare for it. We've come to our place of destiny. We have to make a discovery concerning God’s place and plan

for us; we should be spectators no more. We have to become actors and players.

Listening to me in this is place here tonight, are people who would go into different areas of endeavours in life. But the important thing is; how would you become that which you desire to be?

This conference is for winners. Success can be measured at different levels; you can be a success at today's stage in your life.

I conducted my 1rst Success Seminar at the age of 22, and my 1rst Leadership Seminar at 16. You don't have to wait till you are old before you recognize the power of success. Believe in success, believe and walk in it.

Joseph was a slave in Potiphar's house but he was a success.

Genesis 39: 1-6. “ And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar’s, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph,

Page 3: 7 Principles of Leadership

3

and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. 6And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.”

In the prison, success was still working in him until the controller of the prison put him in charge.

Genesis 39: 20-23. “ And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of

Page 4: 7 Principles of Leadership

the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.”

That same principle of: ‘LORD WAS WITH HIM, AND THAT WHICH HE DID, THE LORD MADE IT TO PROSPER’; eventually made him to become the prime minister of Egypt.

A story of a remarkable young man whose dream would not die...Genesis 37:5… “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more”…...

These things were written for us so we could believe in the same God who made them happen. Being here tonight is part of the divine process for your life; because these words are materials that God has placed to use to help your success story.

So that by the time you're through from this conference, you'd sound a note of warning to devil on your way back home.

Some have described what we have as youthful exuberance, but it's still working for us, praise God!

That’s because I discovered early that success is in your mouth. You might be tempted a lot of times to want to do so many things, but like Paul says: “I am what I am by the grace of God”.

Say this: “I will be a success at every stage of my life”. If things didn't go well for your parents, don't let the same things hold you back or put you in bondage.

Don't accept the same sickness that they were diagnosed with. And if things went well for your parents, that's beautiful, but you'd tell yourself I’m going to do better that!

The greatest thing in life is when God talks to you about your future. He can talk to you in any way.

Listen correctly, so that when the right thought and message comes, you'd be able to pick it. Whatever you want to be, a musician, a lawyer, an architect or a doctor, be one with a difference! You can plan for the top only! The beautiful thing about us God's

Page 6: 7 Principles of Leadership

6

children is that we don't just talk; we have the power to make it happen. Hallelujah. Amen.

Leadership begins with influence – the use of force is not leadership, that’s dictatorship.

Dictatorship always eventually fails, it fails shamefully.

Real leadership is influencing people to make the right decisions.

Only Jesus ever made such a statement as this: “I am the way, the truth and the life.”John 14:6.

Can you comprehend this statement? JESUS IS VERY GOD, He was Himself truth! Jesus was proved to be the son of God, with power!!! Almost 2000 years since He left this world and His name still has power! So, our claim to truth is REAL.

It is only Jesus that gives a man the sense of self worth, self value. Only Jesus tells you: God lives in you. He alone brought the fatherhood of God to man. His message was not religion at all, rather son-ship and oneness with God. Christianity is revelation of truth in the human life, not a religion.

Page 7: 7 Principles of Leadership

The truth principle in my spirit is the work of righteousness. Righteousness is the nature of God, that gives the ability to DO RIGHT and also the ability to stand the before the presence of God without a sense of inferiority or condemnation. It is the ability or sense of RIGHTNESS that comes from God; this is ‘the GIFT OF GOD’.

Jesus is the truth, and Jesus in us is the truth in us. We are the truth!! Hallelujah!

The Principles For Successful Leadership

1. VISION:

Vision is an ability – it is the ability to see. The ability to know the future; vision is the imagery of truth. One who is called to leadership must always have the imagery of truth. To have the right vision involves:

Concept

Page 8: 7 Principles of Leadership

8

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

A leader must have a concept. Abraham had a concept – he had a concept of being the blessed man.

Genesis 12:1. “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and IN THEE SHALL ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED.”

Ideology:

An Ideology is a way of thinking. It is a system of beliefs – belief principles that guide a society of people in their manner of living. As an individual, an ideology is a way of thinking that controls the way you do things.

Nations actually become a nation after they have an ideology. It is ideology that births a nation; a nation never births ideology.

Page 9: 7 Principles of Leadership

Influence:

Moses was a man of influence – Exodus 6:1. “Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.”

Be a man or woman of influence in your world, but you must see to it that you always are extending your influence.

This is where globalism comes into play. Globalism is the policy of conceptualizing beyond your borders. It is the principle of establishing your influence beyond your nation state.

We must have the ideology of Globalism; your plans should go beyond your racial borders, beyond your ethnic borders, and beyond your national borders.

We will change this world, because it belongs to us! Hallelujah. We have the material to do it and also the boldness to use it. God’s word in us is our material. We have the weapon and we know how to use it, and we gave the guts to use it!

Page 10: 7 Principles of Leadership

10

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

Say this with me: “

The world belongs to us, the future belongs to us, it doesn’t matter what nation state I’m from. I’m not just a face in the crowd; I am the voice of God. I am a personality of influence, I’m born to influence my world.”

Leaders are not influenced by society, they influence their society. Leaders choose their source of influence – our influence is from the word of God. My inspiration is from the Holy Spirit!! Hallelujah!

Say this with me:

“I’m blessed, I’m the blessing, I’m a blessing.”

The children of the poor and the children of the rich and wealthy don’t think the same way.

What is a waste to me may be normal to another. It’s the same spiritually. God has given us a different mentality, we should not reason like the world.

Romans 1:2. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your

Page 11: 7 Principles of Leadership

11

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.

Confession:

I can’t think failure, I can’t think fear, I can’t reason like a poor man, I can’t think defeat; because my mind has been renewed by God’s word. I don’t get frightened, because there are no fright files in my system anymore, they have all been deleted.

There is a life that we have been called in Christ to live. There is a reasoning system we must have that comes the renewal of our minds in God’s word; a continual changing of our thinking process.

I can only think thoughts of success, winning and progress. That’s the way I’ve been programmed over the years, and it happened through the word of God.

Consciously reprogram your mind. People around us have a negative language – they live in negativity, in fear and defeat. Some of you were very bold in your primary/elementary school when you were much younger; you asked the teacher questions and you

Page 12: 7 Principles of Leadership

12

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

answered his questions, even though you were not always correct.

You can approach the word of God with the same confidence you learnt in primary school.

Nations are without borders, countries are demarcated with borders. Jesus said: “Go ye therefore and teach all nations”. I go to my world, and you go to your world. E.g. business world, professional world, academic world, etc.

All truth is parallel. Nations are greater than countries, they are not the same. God said to Abraham: Nations shall come out of you, not countries. The message of Jesus will work in any nation. It would produce results in any man’s world.

Say this: “I am sent to change my world, and by changing the world around me, I extend my influence”.

The world around you is your school, estate, church, family, workplace, etc.

Page 13: 7 Principles of Leadership

13

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

Don’t occupy the position of the man who’s still looking for help. You’re the helper, not the needy. Think differently, catch the vision, because we’re changing the nations – we’re changing the worlds.

Acts 26:12-18.“Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, TO OPEN THEIR EYES, AND TO TURN THEM FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT, AND FROM THE POWER OF SATAN UNTO GOD, THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF

Page 14: 7 Principles of Leadership

14

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

SINS, AND INHERITANCE AMONG THEM WHICH ARE SANCTIFIED BY FAITH THAT IS IN ME.”

Don’t be disobedient to this heavenly purpose of God in your life.

He can’t send you to open people’s eyes if He has not already opened your own eyes. God is saying He has already opened your eyes, forgiven your sins and has delivered you from Satan; that is why you can deliver others also.

Our calling is to lead men and women into their inheritance in Christ Jesus.

2. COURAGE:

Joshua 1:1-9.

Have not I commanded thee? BE STRONG AND OF A GOOD COURAGE; BE NOT AFRAID, NEITHER BE THOU DISMAYED: FOR THE LORD THY GOD IS WITH THEE WHITHERSOEVER THOU GOEST.”

God says to His children: Be courageous. Very courageous. Be of a good courage. Jesus said: I am

Page 15: 7 Principles of Leadership

15

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega – fear not. So must be strong and very courageous.

It was with this kind of courage that:Moses could face Pharaoh, David faced Goliath, Moses lead the people of Israel through the Red Sea. He said: this Egyptians you see today, you shall see them again no more. That’s courage! The water parted ways standing as a wall on both sides. What a day! Our God is a God of war.

3. STRATEGY:

A leader must have strategy – a master plan. God always has a strategy, we can never be trapped. He will always have a way.

He is the God of Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego. How can I be trapped? Never be trapped! All things work together for good for those who love God.Let’s look at the strategies God gave to these two men of God:

David – apart from being strong and courageous, he had strategies. He neither used an armour nor

Page 16: 7 Principles of Leadership

16

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

carried a sword to face Goliath. Why? He had a strategy, divine strategy.

Joshua – he faced the walls of Jericho that were too high and too thick to penetrate, but the Captain of the Lord’s host was there!! Joshua 5:13.

We are not alone. The walls of Jericho came down because there was another invisible army to push down the walls.

The bible says: when you go through the water it shall not overwhelm you, when you go through the fire it shall not burn you. We are not ordinary, we are meant to do wonders!!

Say this: “I am for signs and wonders! I am bold, strong and very courageous, for the Lord my God is with me. He is my extra ordinary Strategist and I always know what to do that works! I always win!”

We must learn to function in our environment through the word. Jesus said we're in the world but not of the world. We have a responsibility in Christ to Christianize our society.

Page 17: 7 Principles of Leadership

17

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

There’s a difference between Christianity and 'Christianization'. It’s not enough to help men and women receive Christ into their hearts, we must also Christianize our environment.

This means that we must influence our environment to live according to our principles of life.

The trouble is that if you don't Christianize your environment, it would be harsh, you'd find difficulty in preaching the gospel. For example, in the higher institutions, you have lecturers and authorities who are resentful of anything religious or that represent Christianity.

Also you have regulators of media institutions who just don't like Christianity. National constitutions didn't fall from heaven, some guys came together to work on them and put them together.

So if we really want to preach the gospel we must have strategies that would create the conducive environments for us to do this. We need to begin to get bible believers to become heads of departments, and faculty heads in our schools. We need to begin to send our people into places of authority.

Page 18: 7 Principles of Leadership

18

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

In working towards this, you can begin today from where you are. Let's learn to begin to take advantage of democracy.

We can also change our democracy if it is not good enough. So we've got to be smart, we can't just be quiet, otherwise Christianity becomes very difficult to practice and the gospel becomes difficult to preach. We don't just pray, we pray and then we act.

Begin to use your voting rights, by:

A. Practicing The Power Of Consensus.

This is learning to convince others to think like you. That's how the tyranny of many governments were brought down over the years, by the power of consensus. Human will is very irresistible, we must learn to use it and use it against Satan. The three most natural forces in the world are: fire, flood and mob. Fire can be very fearsome and dangerous. When water finds its level and gains momentum, it

Page 19: 7 Principles of Leadership

19

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

is too powerful. A mob of people is great. The human will is irresistible. Read about the pyramids of Egypt to understand the power of the human will. Even God testified of this concerning the tower of Babel. The science fictions of yesterday have become the realities of today. Man is God's highest creation, he thinks like God. The only problem is that he's been corrupted by Satan. That's why God sent us to win them and change their way of thinking. In doing this you're practicing leadership because leadership is not dictation, it's learning to convince others.

B. The Energy Of Competition.

This might sound like a contradiction, this is not negative competition. I'm talking about learning how to outdo your past and also to be the best in your field. Welcome competition, don't be afraid of it. Love competition, train yourself to enjoy competition, it brings energy. The ever increasing energy that is possible within the human being is something that is secret about the human person. The human body has intelligence because it's made of cells and each cell is very intelligent. Nothing that none of us here cannot do, if we can train for it.

Page 20: 7 Principles of Leadership

20

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

There's also the power of a natural gift, but there are things that you can do that would place a demand on that gift and make it available. So if you're a student, love exams. Love competition. When someone else is better than you in something, don't shy away, that's the guy who's going to help stretch you and bring out the best in you. Make friends with such people. Even in trade, competition drives down prices. When prices are too high in the economy, you can bring in competition to drive those prices down.

C. The Power Of Corporate Wealth.

We must be spectators no more. The bottom line of democracy is that our corporate wealth is vested in the hands of our chosen representatives as priory agreed. When you pay your taxes, then you have the right to ask questions, it helps you to be a participator in what's going on. So through corporate wealth the government can do what it is supposed to do. There's much more influence that we can exercise in Christ with corporate wealth. If the world can think about taxation, how much more should we think about our partnerships and givings.

Page 21: 7 Principles of Leadership

21

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

How wealthy and can we be in influencing our environment through the power of corporate wealth? Poor people can bring down governments but they don't have the power to establish any, because it takes wealth to establish governments. The poor can never help the poor, it takes the rich to help the poor. So you must refuse to be poor. Through the power of our corporate wealth, we can do more to influence our society. On the 6th of March, we're having a music concert to help to raise money for the children of Haiti. We're doing this because it's important, and because we're not broke. So don't think like a poor man who's trying to fix his life; think globally, think like a rich man.

4. POWER.

A. Knowledge Power.

Knowledge is power, specific knowledge. You can know a little about everything, but much about a specific field. Refuse to be ignorant, be studious. When you hear something you want know or understand, try to find out or learn about it. Or you hear a word that is foreign or strange because you

Page 22: 7 Principles of Leadership

22

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

don’t know about it, research and find out about it – look through a dictionary. Become a knowledgeable person. In whatever kind of business that you’re in, understand what the law says about that business. Have the knowledge power; and the knowledge of God’s word is the most important knowledge because it would bring you all other types of knowledge.

B. The Anointing Power.

Be filled with the power of God. You need it – it gives you the advantage. You can effect a change in anything if you have that power in your spirit. You’d find that you can do much more than any human person can do.

5. DETERMINATION.

If you’re determined, you would win. Paul said: “I have fought a good fight”…. “I press towards the mark”……showing that he was a determined personality. If he had to ‘press’, that meant that there was resistance.

Page 23: 7 Principles of Leadership

23

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

Whatever you do, where ever you are in your life; hey, you’ve got to press a little more! Don’t give up! Determination brings you focus. Focus a little more on your goal, cut off the distractions. God didn’t make you a failure, but you’ve got see without any shades or grays.

You really want something in your life? So what are you going to do? What are you going to do to make it happen?

Decide what you are going to do to get it and go for it. It's inspiring when you have a goal, have yourself press towards it, and find yourself winning in that direction. It's inspiring!

Think about winning, because you're in a race already – whether you know it or not. Nobody thought you could amount to anything, but here you are – you're winning already! Through determination, you will win. Think Determination. Make that dream of yours come through because you can.

6. FELLOWSHIP.

Page 24: 7 Principles of Leadership

24

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER BELIEVERS is very inspiring. Don't miss such opportunities and times for fellowship; a word of scripture or moment of inspirational worship is what you can receive that could open your spirit up for that which you require or desire to move to the next level of your life.

Be in church, attend fellowship and desire it because the right deposits get into you spirit this way. Amen.

So fellowship with the right people. Even when you're tired, don’t neglect fellowshipping with other believers, it's part of the process.

Then there's the big one, FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. God is the one who gives us the capacity of love. That fellowship brings you an uncanny ability to do the possible. Talk with the Holy Spirit and have Him talk with you. Speaking in tongues and talking with the Holy Spirit would enrich your fellowship with Him. One of the ways to get great guidance is to learn to interpret your prayers. You can speak in tongues in meditation and your spirit can pick that signal back into your mind. Speaking in tongues is always a clean prayer,

Page 25: 7 Principles of Leadership

25

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

because it's devoid of the ‘world-lings’ – worldly undertones and carnal inspirations.

You can learn to 'quake' in tongues or 'holygorising' – rumbling through your spirit as you pray in other tongues until it takes a hold of your body completely and you’re vibrating.

Let's quake a little. You can accomplish a lot through the power of the Holy Spirit. You can incubate on anything. You can do anything.

If you walk with the wise you become wise; the more fellowship you have with the Holy Spirit, the more you become like Him, the more you think like him, the more you talk like Him, and even look like Him.

7. ACTION.

At this stage, you’ve got the VISION and you’re filled with COURAGE. You’ve found the STRATEGY and you have the POWER. You’re DETERMINED and you’ve PRAYED so the HOLY SPIRT has overshadowed you with his love and power.

Page 26: 7 Principles of Leadership

26

Youth Conference With Pastor Chris: 2010

Now, DO IT! Leaders are doers. Talk is cheap so don’t talk alone, it’s time to act. This means, do it. Winners are doers. Leaders are doers.Say this: 'I'M A DOER, I'M MOTIVATED TO ACTION, I'M GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, I'M DETERMINED'. HALLELUJAH.
