Ephesians6:12Forourstruggleisnotagainstfleshandblood,butagainsttherulers,againsttheauthorities,againstthepowersofthisdarkworldandagainstspiritualforcesofevilintheheavenlyrealms.

2Corinthians10:4-5Theweaponswefightwitharenottheweaponsoftheworld.Onthecontrary,theyhavedivinepowertodemolishstrongholds.WedemolishargumentsandeverypretensionthatsetsitselfupagainsttheknowledgeofGod,andwetakecaptiveeverythoughttomakeitobedienttoChrist.

Prayers:

Inanystrugglewithothersitiseasytodemonizepeople.Wemustrejectthatandfocusourprayersagainsttherealenemy.2Corinthiansspeaksofdemolishingstrongholdsoftheenemy.Strongholdsaresystemsofattitudes,beliefs,expectations,andactionsthatopposeGod’sruleseekingtoblockthemessageofbiblicaltruthandgrace,toremoveChristfromview,andtorobpeopleofGod’sblessings.Prayforthedemolishingofstrongholds:

• Strongholdoflies:ThistrialtakesplaceinIzmir(ancientSmyrna),acitythathasastrongholdofliesattachedtoit(Revelation2:8-11).Liesadvancetheman-centeredkingdoms.Liescontrolandmanipulatepeopleandsituations.PrayfortheexposureanddefeatofliessurroundingAndrew’scase.Prayfortruthencounters,fortruthtoberevealedandtoprevail.

• StrongholdofAccusation:WhereAndrewhasbeenfalselyaccused,prayforhisprotection.Askthatconfusionmarthetestimoniesofwitnesseswhomakefalseaccusations.PrayforhonorandblessingtobebestowedonAndrew.

• StrongholdofPrejudice:Prayforthecastingdownofallattitudesofsuperiority.RejectprejudiceagainstAndrew(becauseheaChristianandanAmerican).PrayforhumilityandblessingtobepouredoutuponhimandotherChristiansinTurkey.

• StrongholdofFear:Fearblocksfaith.ConfessanyfearsassociatedwithAndrew’strial:fearofloss,fearofthefuture.Prayforfaiththatdispelsfear.RejoiceinthehopewehaveintheLord.GodisAndrew’streasure,hope,defender,andprotection.PrayforthemanifestationofGod’spresence.

ArethereanyotherstrongholdstheHolySpiritisrevealingtoyou?ProclaimJesusasLordoverthese.DeclareagainthatGodisall-powerfulinthissituation;HisplansstandfirmforAndrew’sgood;theycannotbethwarted.
