Three committees

– Exco

– Technical Committee

– Training Committee

• While most of the work is ultimately done by Institute staff, SASFA relies

on its committee members to provide guidance, and information.

• These committees meet monthly, or bi-monthly, and the members

contribute their time and resources in the interests of the LSFB Industry.

They are:

• Printed and launched in Dec 2007 – positive feedback

• Submitted to SABS to serve as input for SANS 517

• Some additions and minor corrections / enhancements being drafted

• Stages 2-4 (Manufacturing, Erection, Building Completion)

• Pro-forma Quality Plans

• Training - Quality Systems

• Accreditation Village – fast tracking

• In collaboration with ABSA – Olievenhoutbosch

• Architect appointed – scheme designed, 26 units

• Meeting of builders

• Next : finalise design, get plans approved, form company, build!

• Only one bank is openly supportive of LSFB

• Three of the large banks have granted bonds on LSFB

• Offer a training programme in Quality Systems for members

• Offer training course for inspectors
