March 2018
Dear Parents,
Camp time is fast approaching again. We continue to thank the Lord for His goodness to us, and we are looking
forward to experiencing His blessing on camp again this year.
When our youth camp was started in 1987, we prayed and dedicated it to the Lord asking for His hand of blessing,
and He has answered that prayer in ways we hadn’t even thought of.
One of the goals of camp has been to have a place where youth could grow in the Lord, focus their eyes and
hearts on their relationship with Jesus AND be a place to meet and make new friends in a safe and healthy
environment. One of the ways we have tried to help this happen is to have a dress code for both guys and gals
that doesn’t put pressure on youth to focus on what others are wearing or to have clothing that could potentially
be a distraction the week of camp. We aim to be modest, even in our sports activities.
In our dress code (note: specific dress code with registration brochure) we ask that the guys do not wear pants or
shorts that have holes in them. The shorts should be knee length and loose fitting. All shirts should have sleeves on
them, and worn anytime they are outside the dorm. Pants should be worn at the waist…no saggin’. We also ask
that the gals wear dresses, skirts, skorts, culottes, or basketball shorts. Please avoid the wearing of any pants, skinny
jeans, shorty shorts, short skirts or yoga pants. ALL clothing must be loose fitting and come to the bottom of the
knees. We also ask that modest tops be worn. This would include no sleeveless or sheer shirts or anything where
undergarments can be seen. Skin tight & low cut shirts are not permitted. Also, hair, if not worn up, should be
gathered in the back.
We are asking that you as parents get involved in the packing of clothes for your campers, and that we all work
together to keep the camp safe and healthy spiritually for our youth. Please be respectful of differing opinions of
modesty when selecting clothes for camp. We pray that it will continue to be a camp that God can pour out His
Spirit on. In light of these goals we would like to have your help and your signature on the registration form saying
that you have assisted us in knowing what kind of clothes your youth are packing in their suitcases.
Also, we want to remind you of several other things: Jewelry, cell phones, IPod’s, CD’s, laptops or any other forms
of technology, energy drinks, or knives are not allowed during camp week. There will be phones available in case
of an emergency. Campers’ leaving the camp grounds for reasons other than medical or emergency reasons is
not permitted.
Please let your family, friends, and church know that there is a Friday evening program at 7 pm. Come and enjoy
the fellowship with your Jr. Youth and see what has happened in their lives during the week.
If you have a Facebook account you can like “Youth Fellowship Camp” and see pictures posted throughout the
week of camp and to receive updates throughout the year.
You will receive a confirmation note to let your child know that he/she is accepted into camp.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL & THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
