“Down From the Mountain” Operation Christmas Child From Your Pastor
By the time you read this we will have just returned from SummerSalt camp! Many of you have been praying for the students who would be attending and for the funds to be raised to help them attend. I want to ask you now to do the “hard part”… Keep praying! SummerSalt is always a “mountain top” experience! It is 5 days of focused time on God, exciting times of worship though music, encouraging (and challenging) times of Bible Study and great times of fellowship with friends. But… when students return to their day-to-day routine, the mountain top experience quickly fades away. Often the commitments they made to God, themselves and others also fade away. Please pray for the Deer Park Student Ministry. Pray for the Student Ministry leaders, David and Debra Horton. Pray for the students (those who are here and those God will draw to Himself and to Deer Park). Pray that those who do not yet know the Lord would commit their lives to Him. Pray for their parents to know Him and to teach and train their children to know and love Him. Pray that God would fill them with His Spirit and live His life through them! Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16-19 would be a great one, “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Immeasurably more! I hope that your summer is going well. Last week Pam and I were able to get away for a few days in the mountains and really enjoyed the cooler weather and having time to focus on one another. It is important that each one of us takes the time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with our family. I am thankful for the time away and for serving a church that embraces and encourages time away for their pastor. While in the mountains, I spent a lot of time praising the Lord for His beautiful creation. Many days I stood in awe of what the Lord created to reveal His majesty and for my enjoyment. Speaking of creation, we are beginning a study from the book of Genesis on Wednesday evening during Bible Study/Prayer Meeting. In a culture that is increasingly moving away from God, it is important that Christians understand that God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in it. I have also discovered that what you believe about the book of Genesis determines what you believe about the rest of the Bible. I encourage you to be here each Wednesday at 6:30PM as we study Genesis and spend time praying together. I am so thankful to be a part of the Deer Park family and I look forward to seeing how the Lord uses each one of us for His kingdom and for His purpose. I will be looking for you this Sunday morning in Sunday School at 9:45 and worship at 11:00AM.

Second Chance Ministries Free Yard Sale
The Free Yard Sale will be held Saturday, August 3rd (8:00AM-11:30AM). Donations may be dropped off in the Education Building in the room marked “Free Yard Sale Donation Center”. Please hold all furniture and

Deer Park Youth Participate in SummerSalt 2019 The Deer Park Student Ministry traveled to Summer Salt at White Oak Conference Center on Monday, July 8th for a week of camp activities, fellowship, devotions, and teachings. Special thanks to Pastor Lee and Morgan Coshow who chaperoned our students this year. Please continue to pray for our students and David and Debra Horton who lead them each week.
Each month we are collecting different items to help fill 550 shoeboxes for
Operation Christmas Child! Will you consider purchasing some items
while you are out and about? Please drop these items off in the Missions

Student Ministry Bowling Event
The youth will bowl at Royal Lanes in Goose Creek at 11AM, on Friday, July 19th. The cost is $2.75 per game, plus the cost of shoes. Everyone will meet at the bowling alley but you may contact Debra Horton at 803.464.4676 if you need transportation.
