About the Brighton Marathon

The Brighton Marathon is one of the largest andfastest growing marathons in the UK – a massparticipation running event for both amateurrunners and elite athletes.

The event is owned and organised by TheGrounded Events Company, founded in 2009 byOlympic finalist Tim Hutchings and entrepreneurand club athlete Tom Naylor. The BrightonMarathon is an IAAF Road Race Bronze Statusevent and has a world class elite field.

Doing our bit for charityThe Brighton Marathon supports hundreds ofcharity organisations helping them to raise muchneeded funds for their cause. The number ofcharities benefiting from Brighton Marathoncontinues to grow each year, and we now supportover 400 charities that raise over £5 million annually.

We work with National, International and smalllocal charities, providing them with a fantasticfundraising opportunity and platform to raise theirprofile. Since the first Brighton Marathon in 2010,the event has helped achieve close to £20 million –something that we are extremely proud of.

There are a number of title sponsorship rightsoutlined in this proposal, but we are happy todiscuss bespoke elements or secondarysponsorship opportunities in order to build themost effective partnership with the right brand. Inaddition we have sponsorship opportunitiesavailable for our Mini Mile Races, which take placeover marathon weekend for over 2,000 children.

The benefitsThe Brighton Marathon provides the opportunityto directly access a captive audience pre-event, onrace day and post event. Title sponsorship provides‘Title Naming Rights’ and guarantees brandexposure to all participants, spectators and TVviewers plus many other benefits.

The runners’ involvement with the BrightonMarathon starts when they register months beforethe event, giving brands the opportunity toengage and build a relationship with runners whowill become advocates and communicate yourmessage to a wider audience in the runningcommunity and beyond.
