Classic Monterey Colonial architecture incorporates two stories with upper level porches, gently sloping roof lines and brick facades.

The running bond brick pattern on the facade is a common element seen in Monterey Colo-nial architecture. The contrasting basket weave brick pattern on the entrance walkway and on the back-yard patio provide visual interest.

The curved stairway with the single bowed swell step and the carved volute creates visual im-pact in the foyer. A system of graduated radii is applied to the stair to give a graceful transition from straight to bowed treads.


The entry foyer blends the public and private spaces and sets the mood for the entire residence.

The slight “S” shaped curve of the banister adds a contrasting balance to the geomet-ric rooms. The three-tiered glass and crystal chande-lier visually connects the upper and lower levels.
