After the acquisition of Secureway Network Distributors in November of last year, the unification created the largest pan – EMEA value added distributor of disruptive security, unified communications and infrastructure technologies, and now presents significant opportunities for vendor and reseller partners in the region and worldwide.

The company is investing heavily in the region, and for good reason. “It

with Huawei that will help to consolidate Awqaf’s systems across the UAE and provide the public with faster, easier access to its e-services, content and smart services.

F5, Lumension, CARM and many more big names in the industry.

This is Exclusive Networks’ 10th year on the trade show floor at GITEX. Fari Boustantchi, Regional CEO, can see why GITEX is a great fit for his company. “It is a perfect place to see what our partners and distributors are doing, as well as show off our successes for the past year,” he says.

is good that more and more CIOs are concerned. Security is an ever-changing target,” says Breittmayer. “Anti-virus is simply not enough anymore. There needs to be protection on multiple levels, prevention, post-attack solutions and more.”

“Now,” says Breittmayer, “I explain to potential clients that the question is not whether or not you are going to be attacked – that is a given. The question is what are you going to do when your security is breached.”

“We want to make sure that customers are informed about the risks that are out there right now. If they want a company that can protect them, and provide support through a rich network of partners, they should come to us,” says Breittmayer.

We can expect to see Exclusive Networks year after year at GITEX.

ServiceDesk Plus - MSP with new features that allow managed service providers to increase their efficiency and their bottom line at the same time. And we continue to make the standard edition of ServiceDesk Plus - MSP available for free, so MSPs see just how powerful our solution is — risk free.”

The latest version of ServiceDesk Plus - MSP lets users integrate their help desks with the popular accounting software, QuickBooks. ServiceDesk Plus - MSP users who employ QuickBooks to invoice and bill customers can look forward to a seamless integration between the two products. Specifically, users will be able to sync accounts, work log types and work log time with customers, items and quantity across ServiceDesk Plus - MSP and QuickBooks, respectively. This out-of-the-box QuickBooks integration takes away the need for dual entries, making accounting and charging customers a lot easier for service providers.

ManageEngine has released the latest edition of ServiceDesk Plus - MSP, the company’s web-based, ITIL-ready help desk software specifically built for managed service providers. The latest version of ServiceDesk Plus - MSP comes loaded with features like QuickBooks integration and computer telephony integration (CTI), which allow service providers to concentrate on service delivery instead of worrying about the tools used to deliver service.

Managed service providers use a handful of tools from help desk software to billing and accounting applications to deliver services and manage their clients. Making these

tools work in harmony to provide better service to clients has always been a challenge for MSPs. Without that harmony, MSPs lose a lot of their productive time shuttling between these tools rather than focusing on what matters the most — service delivery. Now, ServiceDesk Plus - MSP makes this job easier for managed serviced providers with QuickBooks and CTI integration.

“Help desks for MSPs are business critical and should enable MSPs to deliver service in a profitable manner,” said Umasankar Narayanasamy, director of engineering at ManageEngine. “We’ve enhanced

across the UAE. This not only gives employees faster access to digital collaboration tools to assist citizens, but it also makes it easier for them to apply for Hajj and Umrah services through a centralised management system for all online services. Centralised management also provides Awqaf with greater control in monitoring the quota for the number of applicants permitted to attend Hajj each year—ensuring that each space is utilised where possible.

Awqaf’s upgraded unified network system utilises a series of Huawei IT solutions tailored specifically for local enterprises. This includes a number of data centre switching technologies, the deployment of Huawei’s eSight unified management platform, and the application of more agile network switches to boost wireless network speeds and performance from 100MB up to 1GB.

Q&A with Matrix’s Ruchir TalatiHuawei...

SafeNet buoyedby GITEX progress

Now that security vendor SafeNet has its own stand at GITEX, Sebastien Pavie, Regional Sales Director, MEA, SafeNet, says that he expects much more business to come in following the development.

Pavie is delighted at the company’s increased GITEX presence compared to their offering last year. “It’s fantastic to have our own stand,” he says. “Last time we were sharing with StarLink and Comguard, but we feel this is a great time to have our own space to meet more partners.”

Although SafeNet is not using GITEX to launch any new product lines, Pavie says the company is using the Gulf tech event to consolidate the image of its existing portfolio. “We’ve released a lot of things over the last year, and given our relatively new GITEX presence we have other things to focus on,” he says. “We’ve recently married DataSecure – our encryption platform – to the server level, and the result is KeySecure.”

The company also released in 2014 SAS – SafeNet Authentication Solution – an on-premise cloud-as-a-service authentication application, which Pavie says requires “no admin whatsoever.” SafeNet has also invested a lot in Electronic Fund Transaction research, and the security elements that take place between different stages of transactions.

Pavie says SafeNet’s strategy for the region is based on sustainable growth. “We’ve had a Dubai office for five years now which oversees our MEA operations,” he says. “We have currently have bases in Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Turkey, and we want to turn these into solid outposts of our Dubai HQ.”

Printing on one side of the page can be wasteful and inefficient resulting in wasted time and money

for offices. At GITEX this year, Panasonic is making a dent in that waste with the new range of

KX-MB2100 series printers. Busy offices can now save on paper usage and printing time. The new printers make it possible to print on both sides at speeds of up to 24 pages per minute.

Since offices require only half as much paper than they would usually need, lesser storage space is required. This also decreases electricity-wastage and cost. Extended machine life of 75K and a drum life of 10K means that the machine is highly durable, at the same time ensuring that the cost per copy is brought down drastically.

Bearing in mind the need for confidentiality in offices, Panasonic has included a Print Data feature which secures print documents from being leaked by protecting them with high level of security. Users can choose to save their print data with

a password to be temporarily stored on their computers hard drive. Keeping their devices on par with other leading technology, the KX-MB2100 series is compatible with the Google Cloud Print and Panasonic mobile print application to adhere with today’s fast moving world and enable users to print from mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Another unique feature of the KX-MB2100 series is the Quick-job option. With this option, up to three frequently-used functions or complicated copy/scan settings can be programmed to the Quick-job key and recalled at the touch of a button, saving users their time and trouble. The Quick-job key is ideal for mistake-free operations, without having to repeat the same sequence of steps constantly.
