Primary Logo

Corporate Colour Wherever possible, the logo should be reproduced in the corporate colour. PMS (Spot colour) printing offers the most accurate colour fi delity but it cannot reproduce colour photographs. For printed items with photos, CMYK printing is the right process to use.

Choosing the right Logo format for traditionally printed items

Pantone® (PMS) colours are used to print specifi c colours; they cannot simulate the full colour spectrum as can CMYK. Only .eps fi les can ‘separate’ into PMS colours.

The fi le for spot colour PMS print is called: BMCC_PMS.eps.

All .eps fi les are vector based, resolution-independent fi les which allow the user to enlarge the logo to any size.

Four colour process (or CMYK) printing simulates realistic colour by overlaying four ‘screens’ of cyan, magenta, yellow and black dots.

Files that separate into these four screens are called:

BMCC_4C.epsBMCC_4C.tifBMCC_4C.jpg

Single colour printing is used when spot colour or CMYK printing cannot be used. Although black ink is indicated here, it may be necessary to render the logo in other colours appropriate to marketing requirements.

Files for Black and GreyScale printing are called:

BMCC_BK.eps BMCC_GS.eps BMCC_BK.tif BMCC_GS.tif BMCC_BK.jpg BMCC_GS.jpg

When the logo must be seen over a solid dark background a ‘reversed’ logo is used.

The only fi le format that reverses is .eps. The fi le name is:

BMCC_Rev.eps

PMS 4 Colour Single Colour (Black) + GreyScale

Reversed

RGB

Used for the Internet, TV, video and all electronic presentations.

The PMS, CMYK, Greyscale and Reversed formats described above cannot be used when preparing art for electronic use.

Although they may LOOK the same, their colour MODE is different. Use only RGB fi les for these applications.

Files in RGB format are called:

BMCC_RGB.jpg BMCC_sRGB.jpg

FontsFrutiger is the corporate font, from which the variants Light, Regular & Bold in both roman (upright) and italic can be used. A sample of Frutiger is displayed below.

6.13 Sustainability & Environmental Health

As a facility of such significance within the community, the design should be environmentally responsible and provide a new benchmark in environmental health for the well-being of staff, performers and visitors.

Such commitment is more than merely providing a low energy solution. The building should be full of light, view and fresh air, with increased oxygenation levels minimising fatigue, to provide an integrated uplifting natural environment of learning, inspiration and well-being.

The upgrade of Springwood Community & Cultural facilities provides a fantastic opportunity for Blue Mountains City Council and the lower mountains community to adopt a leadership role in the design, construction and management of sustainable public facilities.

• As an ecological sustainable development, this project is committed to:

• A shift from environmental management to sustainable development

• Energy conservation and the use of renewable energy sources

• Water sensitive urban design

• Waste avoidance and minimisation

• Protecting human health

• Protecting the social and cultural environment

Springwood Community & Cultural facilities aims to equal or exceed national and international ESD benchmarks in the design and development of the site.

Blue Mountains City Council Graphic Standard Summary

Follow this summary of the Blue Mountains City Council Graphic Standard for standard applications of the identity. NEVER attempt to redraw or recolour the logo. This colour laser print is not a true colour guide. Please refer to Pantone® PMS colour swatches for accurate renderings.

Note: All .tif and .jpg images are pixel-based and should therefore not be enlarged beyond actual size.

Maintaining the Integrity of the Logo

Minimum Size Clear Space

Note: If ‘double-clicking’ a fi le does not ‘open’ it, you simply may not have the program in which the fi le was originally created in. To view fi les like these, INSERT them in a word processing or page layout program such as Word, Pagemaker or InDesign. On a PC, Word may not ‘see’ a _4C.tif fi le.

Building Envelope & Massing

The built form of the Theatre envelope has the greatest volume on site, and is stepped back from Macquarie Road, where it is less visible. It avoids overshadowing the public open space to the north or affecting neighbouring blocks to the west.

The masterplan proposal extends the existing street level of Macquarie Rd directly into the primary public realm of the public open space. This level then flows into the foyer and community space of the Link building and through to the Galleria, Theatre and Library.

The Link building is a 2-storey envelope, which provides a backdrop for the proposed public open space and also to Braemar. There is a formalise separation of this mass from Braemar, so to enhance the connection between the old and new development, and avoid overwhelming the heritage building.

Blue Mountains City Council Graphic Standard Summary

Masterplan Proposal

6.13 Shadow Impact Studies

EXISTING BUILDING

The existing 21 June shadow conditions are relatively

benign with negligible impacts from the existing taller

site element - the refurbished Theatre envelope -

on residential zones to the South and East.

PROPOSED MASTERPLAN MASSING

The 21 June shadows of the proposed development

sit generally within existing shadow envelopes. In the

afternoon the proposed roof extension of the Theatre

building shadow impacts slightly over site boundary

line to the South East, where it is heavily forested.
