Welcome! I am really excited to share my latest fashion figure templates with you. This book contains fashion templates created with 3D modeling software. They not only show the shape of the figure, but provide a sense for her volume and shading as well. These figures are based on a 9-head croquis design. Leggy and elegant! I hope they provide you with a valuable basis for your own work. Enjoy!

The templates hav e a 7x9 grid o v er them. Here ’s ho w the grid will help you copy the templates.

1. Start by drawing a 7x9 grid on your paper. Draw it as small or large as you like. Just try to make the squares all the same size.

2. Pick a template you like.

4. Go square by square, copying the major shapes onto your grid.

3. Start with a single square, and copy the shapes in the template...

...over to your grid. It doesn’t

have to be perfect.

The letters and numbers on the template’s grid are will help you know which square you are currently copying.

5. Now you can erase your grid, leaving only the template. Your fashion figure will have the same proportions as the template in the book.

6. Sketch your fashion design over your figure.

7. Finish your illustration.

Red Grid: The red grid is rather light, and designed to be sketched upon. Print it out and draw the templates and your designs directly onto the printout.

Black Grid: Print it out and place it behind a sheet of tracing paper. Draw the templates and your designs onto the tracing paper, using the underlying grid as your reference.
