If you’re sending a project supervisor for the install- get this badge! For a $5 fee, it is good for the calendar year and will allow you access to the floor through the front doors rather than going all the way around to the back employee entrance.

*Have the request on your company letterhead for approval at the Security Gate.

Internet Comes From Ceiling

Since the internet comes from the ceiling, you will need to plan where in the exhibit to run the CAT5’s and to make sure you request it on the Utilities Location Form with the floor plan and orientation (there is an additional move fee if it’s not right the first time).

*Request enough extra line to accommodate any variance.

**If you have a rotating sign, you’ll definitely need to plan ahead for this since the cable cannot interfere with the sign’s motor.

Rigging Charges Vary

Since the ceiling is steepled, the cost to rig hanging signs will vary depending on where on the floor the exhibit is. It is important to prepare clients ahead of time for this varying expense if they have hanging signs.

Hanging Sign Motors(You NEED Certification Stamp)

While some convention centers may be pretty lenient about certification stamps… New Orleans is not one of those cities. If your motor does not have the appropriate certification stamp you will not be able use it!

*Avoid the additional billing of renting one from the show decorator and always make sure your motor has the correct certification stamp!

Allow PLENTY of Time for Unloading

New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is not set-up for ANY unloading in front- all deliveries (including ladders and smaller exhibit properties) must be unloaded at the docks. The access road to the docks is off Henderson Street and is very narrow so it doesn’t allow for too many deliveries at once… patience is a virtue here!

*Make sure to get a Dock Pass from the marshalling yard off South Peters St.

Resources Within Walking Distance

SHIPPING: -For any last-minute graphics or missing parts, there is a UPS Store located within the convention center.

-Across the street on Convention Center Blvd. there is a FedEx Office Print and Ship Center.

LUNCH BREAK: Just across the center’s parking lot is the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk with plenty of options for lunch. *Plan to go between 11AM-12PM or 1PM-2PM to avoid the flood of Union Workers between 12PM-1PM
