6 Simple Steps To Create A Backyard Pond
Looking to revamp your backyard this spring with a tranquil pond? Check out these six simple steps to create your
very own backyard pond!
1. Dig It Out
Strategically find a location in the backyard for the pond and start digging to the size
and shape that you want.
2. Lay The Liner
Cut a piece of liner to be roughly four feet or wider and longer than the pond. Center the
liner over the hole so the excess liner rests on the ground level. Place river rocks or masonry
bricks around the liner to firmly hold it in place.
3. Fill The Pond
Grab the hose and start filling the pond with water.
4. Install The Pump
Tsurumi pond pumps will keep the water circulating to prevent algae buildup and
reduces the chances of the pond becoming a breeding ground for insects like
mosquitoes.
5. Place Fish
Once your pond is up and running, let the fish swim freely, however, you must make
sure the water is treated specifically for the type of fish that will be living in the pond.
6. Enjoy
Start enjoying your backyard pond and make sure that you are regularly
maintaining it.
