and Single People
A practical guide to housing for single people
Social Care and Inclusion
What happens if I am not
eligible or not a priority?
If you are not eligible or a priority, the Homeless
and Housing Advice team will be able to give you
advice on finding and renting accommodation.
What practical help willyou give me?
There are many housing options that we can
discuss with you. We can offer advice on:
Private rented accommodation
Rent deposit schemes
Welfare and housing benefits
Mediation with family and / or friends.
Housing rights foryoung people
Whether you live at home with your family, have
a bed-sit, a shared flat, live in someone‘s home
as a lodger, or in a hostel you should know your
legal rights.
Your rights will depend on the type of
accommodation you are living in and what type,
if any, of written agreement you have signed
when you moved in.
Please contact the Advice Team for
further information.
