Dear Ms. Roe,

One out of four Idaho children receives child support payments. In some Idaho counties, one-third of

households are single parent.

The prospect that the state legislature would put those children and families in a grave financial crisis was

a visceral fear for too many hard-working Idahoans.

Whats more, Idaho children are owed hundreds of millions of dollars from dead-beat parents that they will likely never see (both the money and the parents).

Single mothers and fathers across the state were upset by Oberto giving Rep. Heather Scott any reward for her misguided efforts. Now they want their stress and anxiety to turn into something beneficial for

Idahos children. The petition these people signed isnt a demand. Its a polite ask.

I understand the Rep. Heather Scott mentioned beef jerky during a legislative hearing on May

18. I also understand that you've sent her a case of beef jerky for the reference. But did you know

she was arguing to kill a bill that provides $205 million in child support for Idaho's single-

parent families?

If Oberto is going to put jerky in the pockets of a person whos working against Idaho's children, we invite it to put money in the pockets of people who are working for Idahos children.

Make a pledge to donate money to non-profit organizations that assist Idaho's single-parent

children. It would be an excellent expression of Oberto's commitment to Idaho families.
