Big Idea

• On February 25th, 2013, Team 6-1 will take the A-Train to Dallas in order to visit the Perot Museum. We will visit the museum’s different exhibits and attend 3 different classes on weather, chemistry, and fuel. The classes we will attend are:

• ABC’s of Chemistry• Air and Weather• Farming for Fuel

What You Need To Go

• The field trip will cost $10. This includes a shirt, round trip transportation to and from Denton and Dallas, and admission to the museum.

• An optional $5 lunch will be provided if you chose to pay for it.

What You Need To Go

• You will answer a few pre-trip questions. These must be turned in for you to attend.

• Your parents must also sign and return a permission slip in order for you to attend.

• We will have an optional meeting on 1/15/13 at 7 p.m. for your parents and you if you would like to meet your group leader and find out more about the field trip.

What will happened on the trip

• You must arrive at CMS by 7:55 a.m. on 2/25/13.

• You will then go to and stay with your group leader for the remainder of the day. These group leaders are Team 6-1 teachers, City Council members, City of Denton Employees, and CMS administrators that have happily agreed to come with us on this trip.

What will happened on the trip

• We will leave CMS by 8:10 a.m. and walk to the Downtown Denton Transportation Center.

• This is a 1 mile walk which should take us 20 minutes at most.

• At the Transit Center, you will receive a train safety presentation by DCTA employees.

• Please pay careful attention to this as IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

What will happen on the trip

• We will arrive at the Trinity Mills Station at 9:25 a.m.

• The DART Green Line will pick us up at 9:32 a.m.

• We will arrive at Victory Station at 10:15 a.m.• We will walk from Victory Station to the Perot

Museum, a 0.5 mile walk, and arrive at 10:30 a.m.

What Will Happen at the Museum

• You and your group leader will have 30 minutes to explore and sight see around the museum.

• At 11 a.m., you will being attending classes with your group leader. We will assign you and your group leader to these classes. Some will go to 1, some will attend 2, and some will go to all 3.

Lunch

• You will have 30 minutes for lunch.• We will eat lunch at the beautiful Klyde

Warren Park, a 0.5 mile, 10 minute walk from the museum.

Leaving the Museum

• Our last class will end at 1:55 p.m.• You will have 30 minutes to explore the museum

with your group leader.• At 2:25 we will begin our walk back to Victory

station. This is a 0.5 mile walk and should take us 10 minutes.

• The DART Green Line will pick us up at 2:49 p.m. and we will arrive back in Denton at 4:25 p.m.

Back to School and Back Home

• After arriving back in Denton, we will walk back to CMS, 1 mile, arriving at 4:45 p.m.

• Your parents will pick you up at this time or you may walk home if you have been given permission.

After the Trip

• Like I always say in Science, “If you do something and don’t think about it, there’s no point in doing it.”

• In Mrs. Taylor’s class, you will write about the trip.

• In Mrs. Orabuchi’s class, you will compute and think about the math behind the trip.

• In Science class, you will answer some questions about the trip as well.
