5th WGKF CHAMPIONSHIP
2019
“A trophy carries dust, Memories last forever”
Mr.HUMBERTO NUNO DE OLIVEIRA
President of the
WORLD GOJU-RYU KARATE FEDERATION
Dear Goju friends from all over the world,
It is with great expectation and enthusiasm for our coming 5th WGKF Championship
that I write these words.
For those of you who have never visited Malaysia I can assure you that it will be an
unforgettable experience, since our Asian friends usually offer us quite impressive
events.
I invite you all to come to Kuala Lumpur next September, and bring more and more
neighbour countries and to deepen this unique project, in a championship that joins
all the lines of our style, making this the true absolute championship in Goju-ryu.
At a time of great challenges to our art world-wide, it is increasingly our duty and
obligation to intransigently defend Master Miyagi's legacy. The art does not exist
without its styles, denying it is betraying the legacy of generations and making the art
one aseptic entity whose standards we do not know.
I think no other Federation is completely open to others as ours and that gives us
legitimacy and a role no one can deny.
The art born in Okinawa has nothing to do with politics but, unhappily, it is increasingly
being pushed into these swamps. It is our task to prevent Goju-ryu of being dragged
into these murky waters.
I have absolute confidence in you, my Goju friends all over the world to help us
surpass these troubled waters and to make our beloved Goju-ryu great, which is just
what we want, leaving politics and murky waters to others interested in that issue.
I hope to see you soon and strong in Kuala Lumpur, for an unforgettable experience
and superb Championship.
Yours in Goju
Humberto Nuno de Oliveira

Mr.ALVIN TAN OON LYE
President of the
ASIAN GOJU-RYU KARATE FEDERATION
Asian Goju Ryu Karate-Do Federation (AGKF) was founded in 2005 and next year
we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary in Nepal during the 7th AGKF
Championship.
Since the formation of AGKF, we are staying true to our vision to promote,
organize, regulate and popularize Goju Ryu karate-do in Asia. With the humble
start of 8 countries in 2005, we now have 22 countries since 2018.
It gives me great pleasure to announce the 5th WGKF Championship will be held
in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 16 to 22 Sept 2019 organized by Sensei Kumareson
Muniandy, President of Dragon Goju Ryu Karate Federation.
The objective is to promote Goju Ryu Karate and provide opportunities for the
student of all ages to have access to Goju Ryu International Competition.
I am sure the Championship will be a great success. I am also hopeful that all
participants will leave the beautiful city with fond memories and excellent
performance. Please convey my sincere greetings to all participants for achieving
a greater height and my best wishes and heartiest felicitation to the Organizing
Committee for the grand success of the Championship.
Thank you.

Mr. KUMARESON MUNIANDY

It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings to all distinguished
guests, officials and competitors participating in this 5th WGKF Championship 2019

This is an excellent opportunity for the athletes to share their experience and

benefit of our Malaysian exponents.
Lastly, to all the officials and participants from abroad who will be here in our
country, I hope you will have a memorable stay in Malaysia to experience our
warm Malaysian hospitality and also to bring fond memories of Malaysia back to
your respective homeland.
I look forward to witnessing a great display of good sportsmanship and
