Stage 3 - Sweep

• Determine the cleaning target– materials, components, machines, work areas, walkways

• Determine the cleaning assignment– Use 5S Map and 5S Schedule to show areas, who is responsible, and

schedule for cleaning

• Determine the cleaning method– Create a standard for cleaning procedures, responsibilities and time

– Use photos to show standards

• Prepare cleaning tools and equipment– Store tools and supplies where they are easy to find, use and return

• Implement cleaning inspection

– Targets, jobs, methods, inspection and maintenance
