Ian Howard Marshall (born 12 January 1934) [1] is aScottish academic. He is Professor Emeritus of New Tes-tament Exegesis at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.He was formerly the chair of the Tyndale Fellowship forBiblical and Theological Research; he was also presidentof the British New Testament Society and chair of theFellowship of European Evangelical Theologians. Mar-shall identifies as an Evangelical Methodist. He is theauthor of numerous publications, including 2005 GoldMedallion Book Award winner New Testament Theol-ogy.[2]

1 Academic interests

Marshall’s main interests in research have been theGospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, the PastoralEpistles, and aspects of New Testament theology. Hehas been particularly concerned with the work of Luke asboth historian and theologian. He contributed to a NewTestament introduction for students and edited a revisionand updating ofMoulton andGeden’s Concordance to theGreek New Testament so that it can be used with the cur-rent major editions of the Greek New Testament as wellas with older editions.
