    1. Life Story

    Prophet Ezekiel was born in 622 BCE and died in570 BCE.

    He was born in a priesthood lineage from thekingdom of Judah and is 1 of the major prophetsof the Bible.

    At about 597 BCE, 11 years before Jerusalemwas completely destroyed, he was exiled togetherwith his wife and 3,000 other upper class Jews in

    Tel-Abib, Babylon

    It also seems that while Prophet Ezekiel wasexiled in Babylon, he was an important personamong those exiled because the elders would

    often come to him for advice.

    Prophet Ezekiel was also highly intelligent andwas God's messenger.

    His memorial is on July 21.

    2. Prophecy

    In July 592 BCE, at the age of 30, Ezekieldescribes his calling to be a prophet, bygoing into great detail about his encounterwith God who rode upon a chariot of fourwheels guided by Cherubs.

    Then, he incessantly prophesied thedestruction of Jerusalem and its temple.

    Then, Ezekiel and his contemporaries likeJeremiah, another prophet who was living inJerusalem at that time, witnessed the fulfillment of

    their prophecies when Jerusalem was finallysacked by the Babylonians in 587 BCE, an eventthat is confirmed by most historians.

    He served as a prophet for at least 22 years.

    According to scriptures, it is believed Ezekiel's lastencounter with God occurred in April 570 BCE.

    3. The Book of Ezekiel (Bible)

    The Book of Ezekiel is the 26th book in theHoly Bible if you arrange the booksaccording to Biblical order.

    According to sources, the Prophet Ezekielwas actually the one who wrote the Book ofEzekiel.

    The book also went under severalrevisions. Some that Ezekiel even made

    himself.

    4. The "Glory of YHWH"

    The phrase glory of YWHW, found in Ezekiel, describesthe presence of the God of Israel which filled the Temple.

    The glory of YHWH was also revealed in the form oflight-filled cloud which accompanied the Israelites during

    the Exodus to the Promised Land. This same divinepresence is on the move again; this time accompanyingthe Babylonian exile.

    In Ezekiels vision, Ezekiel sees the "glory of YHWH"

    leaving the Temple, from the Holy of Holies to the gate,and moving toward Babylon.

    This refers to YHWH going into exile with his peopleleaving Jerusalem.
