  • IMPORTANCE:-

    | Clinical application related with Restorative ppdentistry.

    | Clinical application related with Endodontics.

  • PULP CAVITY| The pulp cavity is the p p y

cavity in the central portion of the tooth containingcontainingthe nerves & blood vessels for the tooth. It is divided into,

    1.PULP CHAMBER ( coronal)coronal)

    2.PULP (root) CANAL ( root))

  • PULP CHAMBER|Pulp chamber is the most occlusal or|Pulp chamber is the most occlusal orincisal portion of the pulp cavity. There is one pulp chamber in each toothThere is one pulp chamber in each tooth.|PULP HORNS

Each pulp chamber has a roof at its Each pulp chamber has a roof at its incisal or occlusal border often with projections reffered as pulp horns.p j p p

  • ROOT CANALS

Root canals are the portion of the pulpp p p

cavity located with in the root(s) of a ( )tooth.

  • APICAL FORAMEN

    |Neurovascular bundle enters |Neurovascular bundle enters through the apical foramen.

  • ACCESSORY/LATERAL CANALS

    | Minute canals which extends laterallyyor horizontally most often found in the apical half.| Large openings terminating in main root canal.

  • DELTA SYSTEM (APICAL DELTA)

    | If the root canal break up into multiple p ptiny canals it is refer to as Delta System.

  • PULP CAVITIES OF MAXILLARY TEETH

  • CENTRAL INCISOR

    | Pulp cavity follows the outline of crown and rootroot.

    | Pulp chamber is wider mesiodistally.y

    | Pulp horns are present in the incisor region.

l h b i | Pulp chamber is triangular in shape with the base at the labial aspect.

  • LATERAL INCISOR

    | Same as central incisor.Th l h di l | The canal has a distal curve in the apical region.g

  • CANINE

    | Largest labiolingual dimension of pulp chamberchamber.

    | Pulp cavity is oval in shape.p

  • FIRST PREMOLAR

    | Two root canals.| Pulp horns extend

i i ll d h incisally under the buccal cusp.

    | Floor is located below | Floor is located below the cervical level.

    | Kidney shape pulp h bchamber.

  • SECOND PREMOLAR

    | One or two canals.| Large buccolingual

di idimension.| Pulp chamber is oval.

  • MOLAR

    o Three canals palatal, i b l d mesiobuccal and

distobuccal.o Prominent pulp horns.o Prominent pulp horns.o Pulp chamber is

rhomboidal in shape.o Third molars have

    most variable anatomyanatomy.

  • MANDIBULAR TEETH

  • CENTRAL INCISOR| One canal but two

may be found.| Well developed pulp

    hhorns.| Mesiodistal dimension

is small.is small.| Pulp chamber is

round, oval or lli i lelliptical.

  • LATERAL INCISOR

    | Pulp chamber is larger than central incisor.P i l h| Prominent pulp horns.

    | Oval pulp chamber.

  • CANINE

    | Similar as in maxillary canine.

  • FIRST PREMOLAR

    | Pulp cavity is similar to canine.B l h i | Buccal horn is prominent.

  • SECOND PREMOLAR

    | Increased dimension of pulp cavities.P i l | Prominent pulp horns.

    | Lingual horn is | Lingual horn is present.

    | Canal curved distally.| Pulp chamber is

    rectangular or triangilartriangilar.

  • MOLAR

    | Large pulp chamber which extends down into the rootinto the root.

    | Usually have three canals. Mesiobuccal, ,distobuccal and distal.

    | Pulp chamber is t g l i hrectangular in shape.

    | Mesial canal shows considerable curvature.
