• The overall score of a neighboring cell is calculated by Ec/Io and the appearance

times of the neighboring cell (Y axis)

Background:• Brunei is covered with dense vegetation and has a large

population, which results in great difficulty in radio

coverage.

• The investment is limited. The number of sites is

insufficient. With poor coverage, the network also

contains a great number of missing neighboring cells.

The call drop rate ranges from 2% to 3%, which is quite

high.

• The operators in Brunei have little wireless network

operation experience. They are also lack of operation

and maintenance engineers.

After the Nastar is used:• The configuration of co-channel frequency neighboring

cells is checked to one hundred percent. Therefore, the

problem of missing neighboring cell configuration

solved.

• The problem of high call drop rate is solved while the

coverage rate and coverage quality are ensured. All the

KPIs reach the requirements.

• The entire optimization requires three engineers

working a day. Compared with the traditional

optimization method, the efficiency is improved 20

times.
