PRAYER OF INVOCATION Wendy Reardon God of all things new, we come together to honor You and give thanks for the blessings of spring. We

come together as well, to lay down our burdens before You. We know that you can carry them far better than we can. We come together today to honor and lift up all those who have acted as moms to us. You, O God, are the best nurturer of all, so we give You praise this day as well, as we pray……

THE UPSIDE OF “ZOOM CHURCH” Our worship leadership team deserves tremendous gratitude for the rapid pivot they made in a matter of weeks, from generations of traditional congregate services to a highly creative “Zoom Church.” This new worship experience has, for example, brought all of us (virtually) closer to those providing reflections and messages for Faith Formation, the liturgists, those leading prayer, and so on — and many are finding an increased sense of connection as a result.

During the “virtual coffee hour” last Sunday I suggested that we each reflect on what we have found to be the positive aspects of “Zoom Church,” and communicate those things to the worship and program leaders. This will open the possibility of carrying those aspects forward, to meld into our Sanctuary services and other programs — once we can resume them. Tom Morgan

Annual Scholastic Book Fair to benefit Hands Across the Sea... It will be different. Although we cannot be together in person, we can work together by the power of faith!

Please take part in this year’s VIRTUAL ON LINE BOOK FAIR Today thru 17th! https://www.scholastic.com/bf/westboroughcongregational Illiteracy is the main factor in poverty, and poverty is the biggest threat to the world’s children! Hands Across the Sea is dedicated to raising literacy levels of children. They send great new books, and work with local educators and the US Peace Corps, to create borrowing libraries and sustainable positive change. All of the proceeds of our fair are used to purchase books to donate to Hands Across the Sea. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to see how the choices we make can do so much for so many. “We all have the power to make a difference, we just have to choose to use it.”, -Dr Jane Goodall. Over 7 years, as a congregation, we have donated approximately $12,500 in new books to Hands Across the Sea. The program is working...we have seen it first “hand!” The need is there now more than ever. We hope that you will once again support this year’s book fair, whether you buy a book to give to a child of your own, purchase a book to donate or make a monetary donation...all purchases help us to build Scholastic Dollars we use to purchase books for donation to Hands Across the Sea!
