Pied Beauty

Glory be to God for dappled things --

For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;

For rose-moles all in s!pple upon

trout that swim;

Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls;

finches' wings;

Landscape plo#ed and pieced -

fold, fallow, and plough;

And all trades, their gear and

tackle and trim.

All things counter, original, spare, strange;

Whatever is fickle, freckled

(who knows how?)

With swi$, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;

He fathers-forth whose beauty is

past change:

Praise him.

Prayer for our Military

Almighty and eternal God, those

who take refuge in you will be glad

and forever will shout for joy.

Protect these soldiers as they

discharge their du$es. Protect

them with the shield of your

strength and keep them safe from

all evil and harm. May the power

of your love enable them to return

home in safety, that with all who

love them, they may ever praise

you for your loving care. Amen. —
