FIGHTING UNAFFORDABLE HOUSE PRICES
People in the city centre are tired of being priced out of their communities. Claire will seek real solutions to party flats and rapidly rising housing costs through rent controls, regulation of holiday apartments, and bringing empty homes back into use.
“I am fed up of the sky high and ever increasing rent prices in the city centre. I know that Claire will work hard to introduce rent controls.”
MAKING CITY CENTRE LIVING AFFORDABLE AGAIN
With more Green councillors we can do so much more to give our great city the green future it needs. More Green councillors means action on priorities like:
Claire will defend local people from
rogue landlords and poor living
conditions
Claire has listened to residents’ concerns about bins, recycling and street cleaning
Claire cycled the proposed National
Cycle Network route to Roseburn with
Green councillors and MSPs
Green councillors in Edinburgh have helped residents in Slateford fight demolition of housing, battled to secure public rights across green space at the Astley Ainslie hospital, and ensured people in Leith and other areas have a say over how budgets are decided. We have a proud record of getting things done that includes fighting against cuts to public services, championing local businesses, and making sure the city is a welcoming place for all.
A GREEN FUTURE FOR OUR GREAT CITY
CITY CENTRE RESIDENTS DESERVE CLEAN STREETS
“Residents all tell me that bin collections and street cleanliness are terrible and must be improved” - Claire Miller
Claire will work with local people and waste collection crews to make the right improvements to bin collection routes and communal bin locations, and take action against fly-tippers and businesses that use residents’ bins for trade waste. The Green ten point plan: http://bit.ly/edinburghbins
WALKING AND CYCLING GET PRIORITY FUNDING
Claire will ensure that 20mph limits are adopted by everyone so that people are safer on the roads and our air is cleaner and healthier. She is committed to making sure money spent on cycling improvements has the greatest possible impact.
“Commuting daily to Calton Hill, I would love to cycle, but after too many near misses in heavy traffic, I don’t dare. As a fellow cyclist, Claire Miller knows how important safe, sensible cycling routes are.”
