The Product “In the case of the Bizhub C 350 specific model, we havealready used 420 Katun Performance cartridges in ourinstalled base of machines and we have not had a singlecase of negative feedback from our technicians or our end-user customers,” reports Mario Fonseca.

“These results are all the more remarkable because someof our printer customers are working in the highly specificfield of graphic arts, with stringent requirements for copyquality. Even these customers are very satisfied with theuse of Katun products,” noted a Saga technical colourmanager in Strasbourg.

Mario Fonseca said he was delighted by news of thelaunch of Katun Performance toners for the Bizhub C 250-series DC/P in June 2008, since his installed baseof C 250/C252 models is two times higher than that ofthe C 350.

“This is a new way for me to boost profitability throughlower maintenance costs and enhance our competitiveness,which is why I decided to transfer my purchasing from theOEM to this Katun Performance toner as soon as it wasreleased in June 2008. Exactly the same strategy weadopted successfully when Katun informed us a fewmonths ago of the launch of their toner for the Canon IRC 3200,” explains Mario Fonseca.

Mario Fonseca adds for the record that currently “theinstalled base is 35% colour printers and is expected toincrease to 80% in three years' time, with colour copiersnow accounting for 8 out of every 10 machines sold.”

Jean Guay holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and was a post-doctoral fellow for IBM from 1990 to 1992 where heperformed research in the theory of electrostatic and molecular electronics. He spent several years at LexmarkInternational as an Advisory Scientist on color toners, and ten years at Nashua Corporation as a Senior Scientist andManager of Product Development. Jean joined Katun in 2005 as Manager of New Product Development, and ledthe effort to develop and implement color test protocols and color quality measurement.
