Why I teach (cont)

• I have struggled in classrooms when I was a student

• From a young age I knew I wouldn’t want others to struggle so I decided to become an educator to help

• This gives me a better understanding of your child's needs!

• I used new techniques everyday to help with your child's education

• Also I use techniques that my family used to help push me into achieving

My philosophy of teaching

• Students learn in different ways, It is my goal to help your child be the best student they can be. This can be done through different activities, including lectures, group work, projects, tests, and many other things. My goal as a teacher is not to pigeon hole any student, so In my classroom there will be multiple ways to express the knowledge your children have learned. Through my vast experience both in and out of the classroom I use the “Folkloric” approach to classroom management.

Philosophy (cont)

• That being said I do not want any one student to feel left out or fall behind because of the way they learn. The three main techniques that students learn by are auditory, visual and kinesthetic. As a teacher I realize that each student is different, now, my goal is to make the class work for everyone! Without excluding any one student.

Philosophy (cont)

• I have always found science extremely interesting so in my classroom I like to show that enthusiasm to the students. Since I am such a big fan of all the sciences I love being able to connect the different sciences wether it be earth science or physics. Like I said earlier I am a student as well, everything in life is a learning experience, so if something is not working in my classroom or with a certain student I will work diligently to help correct the situation.

PBIS

• The PBIS or Positive Behavioral Intervention System in the classroom

• The goal is to teach students good behavior through positive reinforcement

• As a teacher I am not just here to teach science but social skills and appropriate ways to act around other students

• In my class this is implemented through clearly stated rules and a stern but friendly approach to each student. Your child must realize this is a place to learn so they must act appropriately for everyone to reach their maximum potential
