5 Simple Ways You Can Make This Lesson Stick With your Kids
I Love You Dad Lesson
THIS WEEK’S LESSON: I LOVE YOU DAD LESSON
I LOVE YOU DAD LESSON
IN THE CAR:Ask your child what they learned about this week on the drive home:Dads are many things. They are providers, teachers, mentors, spiritual leaders, and coaches. But a Dad’s most important job is modeling the love of God to his kids. We should love our Dads, knowing that they can show us how much God loves us. Luke 15:11-24, The Parable of The Lost Son
HANGING OUT:Make this week’s lesson real:Share some stories about your Dad with the kids. Share some crazy things he did, and share some of the things he taught you about God’s love.
AT DINNER:Here are some great discussion starters:- Why did the father forgive his prodigal son? - What job has God given fathers to do? - Why is it important to love and honor our dads?
AT BEDTIME:Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse: “Children, obey your parents as believers in the Lord. Obey them because it’s the right thing to do.” Ephesians 6:1 (NIRV)
PARENT TIME:What you need to know:Ask God to help you model the love of our Heavenly Father. Ask for a heart that loves unconditionally and always forgives. And don’t forget to tell your dad you love him!
